Bangkok Airport is doing very well for BBC3. ITV's airline documentaries could do well. Ross Kemp's Sky1 documentary was trending but is nowhere in the multichannel top 10. No Birds Of A Feather in the main top 10 is disappointing for the show.
It was quite compelling. Not because it was good, but the sheer patronising dumbed down banality of it. We ended up watching it all for comedy value!
They concluded that you can actually feed yourself well by buying cheaper food. Well blow me....
A record for the channel?
We only caught the last 15 minutes of the programme and couldn't believe what we were seeing. How the family featured were spending £200 a week on food is beyond me, especially when you consider that they were originally feeding the poor children on basically sausages or burgers. Of course we possibly missed out on the dinners before the patronizing presenters got their hands on them.
Is this one of the new style of programmes like benefits porn ? I've noticed that the Daily Mail are running a series this week on eating for £1 or less a day.
Death in Paradise leads Thursday ratings with 7 million viewers
Death in Paradise was the clear winner in the primetime ratings on Thursday (January 29), according to overnight figures.
The BBC One drama was watched by 7.01 million and attracted a 29.9% audience share at 9pm.
Earlier, documentary Eat Well for Less interested 4.77m (21.1%), while Question Time drew in 2.41m (22.7%) at 10.45pm.
Over on BBC Two, Attenborough's Paradise Birds transfixed 1.95m (8.6%) at 8pm, before Modern Times averaged 780k (3.3%) at 9pm.
ITV's The Kyle Files gathered 2.6m (12.1%) at 7.30pm (151k/0.7% on +1), while Birds of a Feather entertained 3.93m (17.2%) at 8.30pm (132k/0.6%). Bring Back Borstal continued with 1.7m (7.3%) at 9pm (178k/1.1%).
On Channel 4, Location, Location, Location interested 1.69m (7.5%) at 8pm (252k/1.1%), and The Mega Brothel fascinated 1.19m (7.4%) at 10pm (180k/2.1%).
Russell T Davies-penned drama Cucumber fell to 660k (2.8%) for its second episode at 9pm (163k/1%). However, last week's opening episode has now risen from 973k to 1.7m in the consolidated ratings.
Cucumber's sister show Banana entertained 212k (1.2%) on E4 at 10pm.
Celebrity Big Brother continued on Channel 5 with 2.71m (11.6%) at 9pm (311k/1.9%), while Botched Up Bodies attracted 735k (4.4%) at 10pm (116k/1.3%).
Meanwhile, Sky Atlantic's new thriller Fortitude attracted 662k (3.2%) at 9pm, becoming the channel's most successful drama launch to date.
Can see Cucumber under 1 million, last nights episode was terrible.
The fact that Channel 4 didn't tweet the ratings for Cucumber & Banana this week suggested they were down. I can't see Cucumber getting 1.7m in consolidated ratings for episode 2.
BBC2 had a disaster at 9pm. Modern Times was a popular factual strand years ago but it's being thrown to the wolves here. Not much promotion. Channel 4 need more drama hits and BBC2 need more factual hits.
That Cucumber rating of 2.8% must be one of C4s lowest ever at 9.00 pm
Pretentious crap.
deeply unlikable characters all gay men think about sex 24hrs a day
15 years ago QAF was seen as groundbreaking this is just seen as really outdated
doesn't help the main character is so unlikeable, terrible casting
So for all the media hype and all the promotions C4 have another flop

It was promoted more like a programme about sex and multi-platform show than a drama. The first episode turned off a lot of viewers. The main character is a shit and has little charm.

QAF was an incredible bit of telly. And you really empathised with Vince, the everyman character. Great soundtrack too.
Cucumber is, frankly, embarrassing. It has its moments, but watching middle-aged men chase after young guys and shout at each other about "c*ck!" is cringe-making.
RTD should channel his talents into another compelling five day strip of Torchwood for BBC One.

Those ratings for Cucumber are dire - especially when set against Fortitude's, on a channel with a significantly smaller reach.
Cucumber also looks dated in many respects - which is hardly surprising as it started life at the BBC, back when RTD was doing Doctor Who, then got shipped to BBC Worldwide in LA when he moved there to work with Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner, and it was in development for Showtime … so C4 essentially have some old leftovers they're attempting to reheat and serve as fresh to the audience. Which isn't that interested …
I bet the C4 schedulers are pushing for it to be moved to a 10pm slot …
Death in Paradise is doing superb and Eat Well for Less did very well, I guess this sort of factual does well with viewers. Channel 4 and BBC Two had decent ratings at 8pm but disasters at 9pm and CBB did great for Channel 5, second at 9pm. Botched Up Bodies isn't really working for Channel 5, it's losing a good chunk of the CBB lead in.
Fortitude did great which is unsurprising as it was heavily promoted.
Channel 5 just 460k away from beating all of BBC2, CH4 and ITV combined in the 9pm(inc+1) slot last night then. Death in Paradise still going great and soaring above everything too.

Even having RTD on This morning promoting the series. I cant even remember him doing interviews for Dr who.
Interesting hearing the timeline of the show that would explain a lot. I cant understand why he assumed hearing C**K screamed a lot would shock people?
We get free broadband from Sky as we have Sky Sports and last week they upgraded us to unlimited fibre for £5 a month, because I moaned my 5mb was not fast enough for us!!
One of my daughters has BT, so I gave her my tablet and she put the BT app on and signed in (no T&Cs broken).
I did the same on her ipad with my Sky Go.
Bought a £30 Chromecast so we can watch BT Sport on our TV.
My family does the EXACT same thing. In fact ALOT of people I know who are into sport split the subs cost and share access on PCS and tablets. You can pay a third of the cost and watch ALL sport. It is the way forward.

I recall him appearing on Richard and Judy to promote Doctor Who.
As for when it came about, according to an interview he did on Radio 2 for Graham Norton, he wrote it after Norton made a comment to him about not making anything real, when he was on Nortons show previously to promote Wizard vs Aliens.
Possible he changed the timeline a litlte bit (not using a TARDIS) , just wanted to mention it.

Eat Well For Less sounds like a car crash! Might watch it on iPlayer! And Fortitude is Sky Atlantic's highest rated original show. Their overall highest rated show is Game Of Thrones.
Comments
It is up a lot on last year's 6.98m (32.2%) which is the standard comparison. No one else is comparing to two years ago, only you.

The default over 65 audience boosting it! This series of CBB is doing very well for Channel 5. If only they launched a few more shows around it.
Banana isn't working is it? New Worlds went much lower though.
Enjoying this series the best since it moved to Channel 5.

Is that because the default over 65 audience have fallen asleep on the sofa, or worse, can't find the remote and can not change channels
Yes that must be it.
Fortitude did great which is unsurprising as it was heavily promoted.
This series is doing so well.
It's got humour too even if its slight.
The eviction tonight should do well 4 big characters up.
