    I like how they involve the mother in getting the baby to cry too instead of whisking it away.

    It's called orgasmic birth. ;)

    The rope is mostly used for the pushing stage, a lot of women find that having something to hold onto helps. Also, pulling on something can help focus pushing in the right place. Some women find it helps with contractions too. That birthing room looks awesome. Makes where I work look like it's in the dark ages. Am pleased she got the birth she wanted, she did brilliantly.
