Idiot parents seem to think games = for kids some reason just because theyre games, no idea why

Would they let their children watch an 18+ DVD? (Be it a traditional one or an "adult" one)

As there really isn't any difference between that and an 18+ video game.

Why people don't take any notice of the age ranges on games I will never know.

You'll have to ask the shops that then!

Ive been buying games since the past 10 years and every time Ive visited the shop Ive always seen the shop assistant sell a 18+ rated game to a 10 yr old kid everytime I use the shops.

GAME & Gamestation seems to be the stores ive noticed this frequently happen to.

My 12 year old son has an Amazon account, has had for about a year. He uses his own debit card. He's not into games but has bought plenty of 15 and even 18 DVDs (not for himself, usually a birthday or Christmas gift for me or his Dad or sister). His age is NEVER questioned on Amazon, they just send the thing out to us.

Well his age should be questioned!

My point is, that it isn't. I monitor his Amazon account, I have full access to it so I know what he's buying. Many parents won't bother and their children can be buying anything they like so long as they have access to a debit card which you can have from the age of 11 in the UK.

In my job I actually work with vulnerable children, one or two who are similar to the cases shown on this programme.

The situation with the boy from the North East and J-J were very different from that of Franklin. Franklin was a product of his environment, with some clear boundaries and positive encouragement he could be an entirely different child in a few short months. The other two boys had special educational needs which weren't being met, not the same thing at all.

Weak, wet parents have horrible kids..... what's new? I like someone else, noted that the little sods kicked off when they couldn't get what they wanted, I also noted that they didn't break their own tvs, games, etc...... I watched when that Franklin boy was hitting his mother, the father sat there next to them on the sofa and did nothing, the mother was laughing....... sometimes the parents deserve what they get, sadly the rest of us have to put up with their ineptitude as parents too.

Why don't you ask Sky and HBO why they don't put age ratings on their adverts for Game Of Thrones? Porn, misogyny and graphic ultraviolence, but also child friendly dragons, magic and an imitable attractive blond hero. At least GTA has guns as a warning sign to most parents.

And Game Of Thrones fans try and convince me that children won't get hold of this material. One DS user even wanted a country without regulations. There is a disgusting amount of apathy and anarchistic promotion with this tv show, it needs to be investigated.

The problem with Sky is you cant regulate it they say its up to the parents but the problem is adverts are short and time you ve changed the channel the damage has been done. Kids could watch free porn if they wanted to remember babestation type channels.

HBO well I dont like in the US so I wouldnt know.

A country without regulations? Isnt that technically what america is? Id be all for it but under certain conditions. While we shouldnt be limited to stuff the only thing that pissed me off is when the BBFC decided to ban a game over here because it was too graphic. Nevermind the fact it specifically had a 18+ rated certificate on the damn game to begin with. If the game is going to be censored just because they are scared kids might watch they may as well just ban all 18+ rated games that people in my age want to play.

If you want to regulate then fine but its a bit harsh to regulate games that are aimed at 18+ when 18+ want to play them.
