Funny how the latest threat is always his greatest yet.

Please, please, please please please, kill off missy once and for all. This sex-change tosh looks like an attempt to kill off Doctor Who. Is Moffat related to Michael Grade?

It would be much better if missy was actually a robot and Chris Addison The Master, running things from the background.

    A female Master ---- Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!

I'd be very surprised if he did show up. More likely the reference is to the old friends we saw in the trailer at the end of In the Forest of the Night, which I'll refrain from mentioning in case anyone considers it spoilery (although God knows why ...)

Well, you don't get much buzz from something like this :-

"With crisp packets on the streets of London, people we've never seen before unite against litter and the Doctor takes to an armchair in a drab new cardigan.
Can the mighty Girl Guides recruit Missy? As the Doctor faces his least worthwhile challenge so far, pots of tea must be made before the day is won."

I suspect we're in for a Pandorica Opens -> Big Bang blackout on that front, given the finale footage in the Episode 10 next time trailer.

Could be wrong, though :) Perhaps they'll stick with the radio trailer.

Was there a Next Time? It got turned off right in the middle of the end credits here so didn't get to see it. Bloody philistine kids.

I wonder if The Master will be parading The Doctor around to a little tune.

I always thought the words were "do it like a lady" when I heard it with a certain dancing babysitter

I think the whole series will end up being claras dream or something like the matrix. The clues are the strange goings on in certain episodes. The moon chicken, the earth changing into a forest, the flatline aliens, the strange goings on in listen and the even stranger goings on in dark water. Once she wakes big reset. I think missy could even be the dreamlord.

So what's the general consensus on how people are going to refer to the character going forward? Especially if Michelle Gomez remains and doesn't regenerate at the end of 'Death in Heaven'

Missy, The Mistress or The Master?

    The Master for me.

The Master - but also Missy for this incarnation.

No-one hates the idea of a female Doctor more than me (I'll just stop watching if it ever happened) but I'm fine with a relatively intermittent figure like Missy being cast as a woman (especially as Michelle Gomez is such a terrific presence on screen).
