The other 2 are not worthy of a place
Joe is good but to me he is technically good - he isn't star quality. He should do well in musicals - and that's not an insult to him, it's just that to me he's not a pop star.
Steve - I think he was ok, but can hardly remember his singing talent. Don't think he'd come in the top 3 now.
I think both female winners have been better overall than the men. Leona as a technically gifted singer, and Alexandra as the all rounder par excellence.

Vocally I would place Matt just ahead of all the male winners, with the possible exception of Leon, but then only because he has a very richly toned crooner's voice (Matt is technically better). Shayne could do a little more of the vocal pyrotechnics, but his falsetto sounds forced and duck-like compared to Matt's.
Where Matt fails, spectacularly, is in personality/confidence/charisma and sex appeal. To do well you need to be able to promote yourself, and he comes across like a tongue-tied scruffy tramp. Maybe that will change, we'll see.

For me Matt does not get anywhere near the top 2. Vocally he is miles behind tho he can wear a hat well, probably on bad hair days when the shredded wheat wont play nice.
Have you seen any of his interviews today? He is coming over to me as a very personable, grounded, confident, articulate guy who knows that this is just the beginning and now the real hard work has to start.

Vocally, I think Joe is probably the best, but he's outclassed by Shayne in other ways. Matt is only so popular now because he's so recent, IMO; in a year, he'll be lucky to still have a record deal.
