Is this a genuine business or not?

They advertise jobs on the Universal Job Match site. They keep advertising loads of 'Parcel Sorter' positions all over the country every couple of weeks as Company Confidential.

http://national-career.com/

Is it genuine, or another of those scam sites?

If you have to ask it usually is.

The site itself looks like boilerplate stuff.

The domain was registered using a residential address in Bristol at the start of February and the site is hosted in Denmark.

Gets a 10/10 on my scam meter.

McAffee Site Advisor also flashed it up as being dodgy

It seems deliberately designed to be confused with legitimate sites such as this one here: https://nationalcareersservice.direct.gov.uk/Pages/Home.aspx

That in itself is an indication that the http://national-career.com site is a fraud and any personal CV data might thus be used for identity theft purposes. I would steer clear of that site and report it to this lot here: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud

There are plenty of legitimate job sites about as we can see in this thread here: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?p=71884637#~oA7Ht5AH670g4I

It doesn't do very thorough checking either.

I just clicked 'Submit' without filling in any details at all, and it said 'Thank you for your application'!

A quick look at the source code and the form seems to be a dummy. The "button" at the bottom is just an image link to the /CompletedApplication.html page with no instructions to do anything with what you've filled in.

At least (if I'm right) there's no risk of your data being used maliciously. Because it doesn't even go to the server.

I've not used the Jobs Match website before, are fake job vacancies as common as it seems?

Who is meant to verify the companies advertising the vacancies?

Looking at it, it points to a Google AdSense scam as I cannot see a POST command.

There is also another domain staff4retailers.co.uk again hosted in Denmark, registered using an a residential address in Newcastle which is also hosting another boiler plate site.

    Just a small point..

Being registered in Denmark doesn't make something a scam.

A major, well known web-host (One.com) is Danish - so there are a lot of very legitimate British business websites hosted in Denmark - mine included! :)

I just wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea that a website hosted in Denmark is some sort of 'hallmark' of dodgyness.. it really isn't.

I do agree with you as any dodgy site can be hosted anywhere.

Hosting company, IP addresses and country are just some of the information I use to determine whether or not something is questionable for myself.

Other people may have other means that are no less valid.
