The Decemberists isn't as good as I expected to be unfortunately, it doesn't have the magic of The Crane Wife.

I didn't think so either and I checked but it seems he doesn't. His eponymous début album is released early Feb

It's already leaked and I'm massively disappointed. Apart from a couple of tracks, it's all very different to CMYK and Klavierwerke.

Agreed, it's not very good imo. He should have stuck to his previous style because he's no Leslie Feist when it comes to songwriting ;).

Foo Fighters - Wasting Light blows everything out of the water. White Lies - Ritual is another good one. Generally though not a great year as albums by Kasabian, The Strokes, Radiohead, Snow Patrol and Florence are ok but not as brilliant as I'd have hoped.

beyonce's 4: love the old school vibe and afrobeat influences. its stunning with a live band so i hate listening to the album itself, got to love youtube converter!

some of born this way and adele's 21. maybe talk that talk will be good too. looking forward to alexandra burke and leona lewis' follow ups. shame theyve been delayed

oh and yes!! dionne bromfield's good for the soul, epic voice, she'll be amazing in a few years.

There are quite a few I'm impressed by thus far this year (Britney, Gaga, Coldplay etc), but I think Nicola Roberts 'Cinderella's Eyes' is the stand out. I love it :)

Would also like to mention Melanie C 'The Sea' too. Doing disastrously in the UK, but there are some cracking tracks on there.

    Goodbye Lullaby - Avril Lavigne,
    4 - Beyonce,
Born This Way - Lady Gaga,
    Femme Fatale - Britney Spears,
    21 - Adele.

I'm getting so many albums for Christmas that my whole Top 5 could be different by late December.
