Is that not quite quick for a reissue? Doesn't sound like much of an upgrade.

PS4 is getting the same treatment.

A 1TB model with better power usage and energy efficiency coming soon too.

A 1TB Xbox One was available ages ago, sadly with a hideous Call Of Duty paint job and an inflated price tag.

Adding a 3.5mm jack to the controller is a good move though.

If MS have any sense this new bundle will launch at £299 and become the standard model, with the existing 500gb version dropping a little to become a entry-level model.

If they use it as an excuse to hike to the price up again then they're stupid and deserve to be trailing this gen.

The standard Xbox One will retain its "promotional" £299 price tag while the 1TB model is £349 and available exclusively at GAME for now.

I read on another web site it's exclusive at GAME until 20th June.

Stupid pricing. You can pick up a PS4 for 100 quid less if you shop around!

But what is the RRP for the PS4? A manufacturer will normally only refer to the RRP and the retailer will then choose the price they are going to sell it at and if you look around you usually find most items cheaper.
On occasions you may find manufacturers referring to some of the deals available.

    Exactly.

It's nonsense to say that the RRP of the Xbox One is "stupid" because it costs more than PS4 retailer deals.

The PS4's retail price is £350 for the 500GB model... that's the same retail price as the new 1TB Xbox One, and £50 more than the retail price for the 500GB Xbox One.

Yes, you can get the PS4 cheaper if you "shop around", but you can also get the Xbox One cheaper too in the same way...

£350 seems a reasonable price at this stage in the consoles life, with double storage and a revised controller with a handy 3.5 jack.

Won't be long before this is routinely going for £299 anyway, probably after GAME's exclusivity runs out, leaving competition to push for better deals.

I had to laugh that GAME have only got it as an exclusive for such a short time.

So when do the xbox and PS4 consoles get a die shrink ?

Using a 14nm or 16nm process would be a massive improvement on the current high power consuming, and cheap TSMC 28nm.

There's talk of coming down to 20nm this year. The rumoured new PS4 models expected to be announced at E3 have improved power consumption. But perhaps that's simply a more efficient PSU rather than new chips.
