I live in Darlington, born and bred Darlingtonian. What is your visit for cos it's hardly a tourist destination!

He obviously goes to the wrong places. It's just a normal town. Not much to do but far from being a ****ing dump.

They've got a big 25,000 seater stadium, used by a 4th division rugby union team.

i have a mate from Sheffield who says Harrogate is a dump. I then found out the Sheffielders are pretty xenophobic :D

    'Darlingtonian'?
How disappointing, I thought you people might be called 'Darlings'.

I like Darlington and have a mate up there who loves the area.
It is low key for night life though, well it was when I have been there.
What do you mean by night life though?

We have quite a few bars and restaurants in town but it's not the buzzing nightlife it once was years ago. Head to William Steads in town, and you can ask there where to head to after that, Apart from that there is a cinema and a theatre. That's your lot I'm afraid!

Edit: I've never been into town on a Monday night, buts it's Gay Night around a few of the bars near Grange Road, and people say it's a brilliant night.

Nothing to rowdy someone told me to stay clear but as long as a few pubs and eateries that will do me they said it's full of squaddies but I don't mind that

Yes we get a lot of squaddies, being so close to Catterick, but usually a Saturday night. Eat at Al Fornos, Blue Lagoon and Uno Momento, they are always nice. It won't be rowdy during the week, Friday and Saturday are the main nights but it's definitely not as busy as it used to be.

If you want nightlife go to Newcastle or Yarm.

Newcastle is good for a night out but still 40 mins away or half hour on the train, I hate Yarm for a night out, full of wannabees.

Go out of the hotel and turn left, go right to the bottom of the street and on the corner opposite TK Max is The William Stead, it's a weatherspoons and is always busy, a good place to start. You can ask there where the best places to go are on that particular night. You are right in the centre of town. (Assuming it's the Kings Head Mercure)
