    no chance..much of the deep stuff is lake effect snow. i like some snow but in reality our uk climate is drab and boring :(

    I love snow. I mean, really, really love it. But can we please NOT get the snowfalls that are killing people? Those kind suck.

    Not really. The country had a major snowfall just as spring officially began last year, with snowfalls of over a foot depth in large area's of central England in late March 2013, one of the coldest March's in recent memory.

    5ft of snow has fallen in parts of the US with this "lake effect" snowfall. I'm sure you wouldn't want snow up to your neck even if you do love the stuff.

    We don't get enough snow to make it reasonable for councils to buy proper snow clearing equipment in this country, so whenever we get any it is a pain in the neck for anyone who has to go out in it for any reason.
    So I hope we don't get any snow at all.

    I hope not. Snow is nothing but a nuisance. I don't understand the fascination some people have it or with a white Christmas.

    Even central japan - my missus 's family home in the mountains between Nagoya and Kyoto gets seriously dumped on in winter .It's so much hassle that we now only bother going in summer .

    No thanks , snow means lots of ice which means chaos if your council is like many others and can only be bothered to grit A roads and leave all other roads iced up

    If we do get a heavy snowfall this winter DO NOT attempt to shovel it out of the way.

    It is incredibly dangerous to do so, especially for men, between the hours of 6am and 10am in the morning. It risks a sudden fatal heart attack even in healthy young men, or women. The reason is that it raises blood pressure and increases heart rate whilst the cold air constricts the heart muscle and veins around it, lessening blood supply. Using the upper body and arms is also far more strenuous than use of legs. It's considered so dangerous that nobody over their mid 50's should attempt it. Snow shovelling is lethal and kills hundreds each year, especially in the USA and Canada. If you are overweight or a smoker the danger is even greater still.

    A couple inches makes for nice scenery but this amount is just silly. Especially when it all falls in a short amount of time (ie one storm). Want no part of it.

    No chance at all I hope. Snow, deep snow is loved by children but hated by those of us who HAVE to deal with it
