Hey guys,

I was just thinking back to how many ISPs I have used over the years, and I was trying to remember what they were all called. Can you please list the ISP's you have used and if you want what years they were used for.

1. Compuserve - 93-98, I remember this vaguely because I was quite young at the time. I remember when Yaoo was called "Jerry's Guide to the World Wide Web"
2. Freeserve 98-2001
3. Claranet 2001-2002
4. Whsmithnet 2001-2003
5. NTL 2003-2005
6.BT 2005-2007
7. Talk Talk 2007-

For dial up I used X-Stream, then moved onto the free offer from NTL. I have been with NTL (now Virgin Media) since. I think I have been on every speed they offer, too.

    I started on dial up, then moved to 128k, 256k, 512k (I think), 2Mbps, 4Mbps, 10Mbps and now 20Mbps.

Pipex - some time in the mid 90s? - 2001ish (pretty good but of course you had to pay call charges too. Moved only because of free evening/weekend internet calls from BT.)
BT (first ISP to offer free evenings/weekends), 2001-2002 (moved when heavy users got put on bad-boy numbers)
Plusnet 2002-2002 (kicked off in first month for using too much, even though we didn't).
Tiscali 2002-2003 (they weren't bad when they started, but they soon turned to the crap that they remain today. also a user of bad-boy numbers)
Clara.net 2003-2005 (best dialup ISP ever. Always went way over the hourly limits per month with no complaint, but we weren't on their cheapest plan so maybe that was why. Moved due to ADSL finally becoming available)
Zen 2005-2007 (brilliant ADSL ISP, moved due to caps)
Entanet 2007- (very good ISP, no intention of moving)

I started with Virgin in the days before Broadband, since then I tried.
    Freeserve (now wannadoo)
    Lineone (now Tiscali)
    BT

I left BT because they started to cap the amount I could download per month so I switched to Tiscali, since joining Tiscali I upgraded to Broadband as soon as it was available in my area.

Demon from about 1996 until about 2000/2001 (dialup, tenner a month plus call charges!)
BT Surftime from 2000/2001 until 2002 (£9 a month for off peak free dialup I think, then I think we upgraded for the free all the time one)
Pipex broadband from 2002 until about May this year (512kbps until they automatically upgraded us to 1Mbps)
Virgin Media 2Mbps from May this year.
Now I've moved into my house at uni and I've got Be broadband when I get about 14.1Mbps.
