So 6 months later still no website, The mess they made of the Dave Pearce anthems show, (and they are still leaving in the Juice fm mentions in ), and now 2 nights in a row no specialist djs, Why would people want to listen to non stop fire you would be better off listing to your own music were there are no adverts.

    ...or Capital. (Albeit with adverts)

I had great expectations for Fire.

Finally, I would comment that our industry is facing huge changes in the next five years. Listeners are sticking with radio - but on multi platforms. Choice increases, and listening appears driven by content with genre, cultural or demographic appeal rather than by geographic location. The challenge for Fire is to find a space big enough to be a relevant, fun entertainment station for the 'post Radio 1 but not ready for Heart' audience and broadcast that to a wider regional area. Like it or not, standing still as an FM only local stand alone business would be death in the long term. Our TV strategy will give us a brand exposure to promote our regional digital radio brands; and is a very cost effective marketing tool.

I hope those facts help clear up any confusion, and keep an eye for new places to hear and see Fire from our new website from 6 Jan. I'm sorry that I will not be able to get into a running discussion.

While it's possible that Fire will be on the Somerset multiplex, Solent local TV doesn't launch this week.

Oh, be fair.. hanssolo's use of question marks at the end of each sentence in his posts gets him out of anything and everything! :D

    From a comment on
    http://www.ukfree.tv/showchannel.php?id=THATSSO
may not be till December 28th

Wonder if the Somerset DAB mux will actually launch late Summer?

    Wrong format.

Although a rebrand to something else would be a Capital idea.

Maybe a new format on the way then... or Breezes could be set on Fire!

JACKfm was recently recently taken off the Bournemouth DAB MUX. I was wondering if Celedor were going to use 106.6 to transmit the Breeze.

There was a item about Celador not making a profit, so as long as being on the S Hampshire keeps Jack's FM licence renewal, and Jack does not have to cover all of Dorset, just Bournemouth on FM there is no need for Jack to be on the DAB Bournemouth/Dorset mux?

Someone told me yesterday the signage has disappeared from the front of Fire's studios.

**Cue sign of the times** jokes...

Well something is up. The signs have gone from the building, a few evening shows have vanished without any word, no website (of course) and some major FM disruption.

Fire was such a brilliant station. I really hope someone can buy it and restore Fire to it's rightful place as a vibrant and exciting station for an area full of eNeRGy.

Looks like Fire has been bought by Celador. http://radiotoday.co.uk/2014/07/celador-to-buy-fire-radio-in-bournemouth/

It will be interesting to see what Celador do with it. It's unlikely ofcom will allow a format change for it to become The Breeze (but I think The Breeze is already available in Bournemouth), so they may keep Fire as they're youth brand and roll it out if they buy other stations that fit the format of Fire?

They will probably turn it into another Jack, it can keep its dance format and go down to just Allan Lake at breakfast.

Bournemouth is in Jack South Coast's MCA. Why would they double up and put it on another frequency?

True, although Jack 2 might be an option (similar format to 107.9 in Oxford).

Question answered by who? The on-air changes smack of a station moving location. And while I suppose it's possible Celador might just be renting studio space to Triple Broadcast Co Ltd I can't really see it happening. RIP Fire/NRG. Assimilated July 2014.
