End of the Olympics. I know it's not his fault but that could have seriously hurt someone.

What a stupid thing to do. Could have broken someone's nose.

I thought it was amusing that he missed all of the athletes (there were only several thousand of them) and the ball was grabbed by one of the officials.

Please tell me you're joking. If not, do you propose football matches are banned too?

It was a singularly pointless stunt in amongst a singularly pointless interlude.

Could it be the start of that familiar time-lapse film trick when the ball comes soaring back in four years time to the stadium in London at the next opening ceremony have done gnome-like globe trot?

I'd have laughed if it hadn't made it over the barrier just in front of him and ricocheted into the little girl next to him.

Fair play, but it's not really spelling is it, more a case of a malapropism?

EDIT: actually it's not even a malapropism, just an inappropriate word in that context. :)

It was just a gentle lob out of his hands, with a light ball. I dont think hitting a specific target was the intent!!

There were hundreds of pounds of explosives used in the firework displays and that's fine.

But that ball could have seriously hurt someone. Beckham should be arrested & tortured, and Health & Safety should be summoned to investigate straight away.

He's been kicking balls into crowds for years anyway, that was just one of very many

Just another excuse to muscle David Beckham into something. I hope he's not chosen to light the flame in 2012!

    he will i reckon,

even tho we have won loads of medals, none of our athletes can match beckham for pulling in the crowds on a global stage,

just like the news said last night, the chinese didn't know who jimmy page and leona lewis, but the certainly recognised becks,

he will probably be the coach for the GB footy team, he didn't seem to completely dismiss is when asked prior to the ceremony,
