For those of you lucky enough to have HD - and given the lack of programmes shown on ITV HD - some of you may like to know that the new Kevin Whately 3 part ITV drama starting at 9pm tonight is showing in high definition on ITV HD.

    On ITV HD tonight

    DOCUMENTARY: Superhuman

    Super Strong.
An insight into the lives of the strongest people on the planet, discovering the extreme lifestyles they follow in their pursuit of raw power, and examining how far nature and nurture and the importance of the mind feature in the strength equation. Including the world's strongest couple as they await the birth of their baby - will it also follow in its parents footsteps? The easygoing man who transforms himself into his alter ego to smash through nine layers of concrete, and the world's strongest teen.

I noticed Superhuman is listed as HD in the TV guide I get (What's on TV, I think). I don't recall seeing them do that before, they do for C4 and BBC.

What was the HD PQ of The Children like?

The SD version was better than the SD version of Harley Street, so I assume it was an improvement.

ITV1 didn't mention, to my knowledge, that it was being shown in HD.

Had ITVHD in all the on-screen promos for it.

Every advert for it I saw contained the ITVHD logo, but they never mention HD in the voice over.

Can't speal of the PQ though, had no interest in watching it.

Quality was about the same as Harley Street, nothing to get excited about. IMO

Some grabs from it are on my Flickr page if you want a wee lookie.

Thanks for that. It's a shame these new dramas don't have the wow factor of earlier efforts.

The best so far, Bleak House, Cranford and Lark Rise, along with both of the Terry Pratchett Discworld dramas on Sky.

Harley Street and The Children had certain parts that were clearly HD and other parts just looked as if it was upscaled. No WOW factor involed at all like you say Derek.

It seems to be the in thing to make them look like that. :(

Cranford and Lark Rise were streets ahead in HD yummyness for sure. :)

I have to admit, ITV aren't doing badly so far. We're getting at least a couple of shows a week in HD (as well as films), and non of them are being endlessly repeated.

Any reason why ITV HD can't show programmes on ITV2, ITV3 etc? eg. Ice Age tonight on ITV2.

They didn't pay for the HD version (assuming there is one). That's pretty much what it boils down to.

I watched King Kong on Saturday night on ITV HD & it looked amazing! It was such a clear & detailed image that I could easily make out when the actors were stood infront of "greenscreen" etc..! The New York skyline images were especially good... :D

I agree, it has to be the best HD movie quality wise on ITV HD so far.

Did you catch some of my screen grabs from it?

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/freesathd/

(Starting at the bottom then on to page 2, or in the ITV HD folder)

I got a bit carried away with the grabs, there's quite a few. :D
