Iron Man has claws just like him and more so why have him.
Do you think he is obsolete???
Well, considering he was in x men 1,2,3, first class and has had two films of his own....no, clearly not.
Wolverine is a different character to Stark, the fact that they both have claws is pretty irrelevant. Are Iron Mans claws made of the practically indestructible metal adamantium? No. Does Iron Man have excellerated healing and heightened senses? No. Does Iron Man have an interresting and mysterious back story? No...although admittedly neither has Wolverine now they have milked the character to death.
Using that logic you could undo just about any superhero. But seeing as they're both (co-)created by Stan Lee, evidently he sees enough distance between them for them to co-exist...

I hate to be "that guy", but Wolverine is one of the
few major Marvel superheroes Stan Lee didn't co-create.
Wolverine was created by Len Wein and
John Romita, Sr.

Evidently you don't hate to be "that guy", otherwise you wouldn't have been "that guy". But this is Digital Spy, so I should have seen it coming...
I meant the X-Men, which was created by Stan Lee. And Wolverine's first appearance was in an issues of The Incredible Hulk (also co-created by Stan Lee).
Evidently Stan Lee isn't/wasn't bothered about any similarities between the two, because he has enough weight at Marvel to get changes made or for characters not be used in his creations (which Wolverine has been, on multiple occasions).
Yes, it is revealed in Iron Man 3 he is just about to die when suddenly claws come out of his suit that look just like wolverine's but better. The audience are shocked and Hugh Jackman storms out of the theatre.

Watch Iron Man 3 and you will see.
Ive seen it. But I don't remember claws .....
Was that when he was torpedo'd into the snow before he met the kid?
Was that when he was torpedo'd into the snow before he met the kid?
I may have to watch it again.
I cannot remember at what bit it is at but it's not at the bit when he falling out of the sky. It is during conflict and he is on the floor and spike type claw things come out of this suit but only on one arm.
I need to buy it when it comes out on Blu-Ray I don't like this idle point between cinema and it coming out.

I think you have your films mixed up. I'm pretty sure it is "Wolverine" you are thinking of, not "Iron Man 3."
You don't need to see a movie to know what his claws look like. It's like saying you have to meet Mike Tyson to know he has a messed up tattoo on his face.

Iron Man can fly, does that make Superman obsolete?
Superman can do more than fly. Also Spiderman is more close to Superman as a leader.
And there's much more to Wolverine than just being a guy with claws. So, why would IM having claws make Wolverine obsolete? You have started some silly threads in your time, but this one takes the biscuit.

Is he also immortal? (might of imagined that)
Iron Man is a guy in a suit.
It's like saying Dracula is redundant because we have Underworld. Kate Beckinsale is better looking than any Dracula i've seen.

They're only comic book characters, they're not actually real.:D
What I was thinking, too!
In his dreams

Yes, and Captain America has a big hammer.
And Superman has a Power Ring.
And the Mask uses a gun called the Good Samaritan.

To paraphrase Wolverine : Go **** yourself.

Wolverine isn't obsolete, but overrated.

I have never seen a Wolverine movie in my life and I have only seen Iron Man in The Avengers and Iron Man 3.
They are in Iron Man's XLVII suit which was destroyed at the end of Iron Man 3.
You're not the sharpest claw in the paw are you?
