To be fair its not as bad as the people who sign off their internet ramblings with "confused.com", "FML" , "Epic Fail" or "simples". :p

    -edit-
This clip (not very sfw) pretty much sums it all up.

I'm no fan of that or blah.com. however I do wish they would educate themselves first. Its actualy hash, then the words that follow are the tag so #bothered when said out loud is "hash bothered" CAN U TELL ITS SUNDAY & I'M BORED#.COM

I would think since the hash is tagging the word as a search link on twitter that the # in context is a hash tag. "hash tag soboredtonight "

They are sad, sad people. I'd feel sorry for them if they were so annoying and desperate.

There are two types of people who use hashtags. The who them using #pointless words (see what I just did there), and then those who use them as they are intended to.

They are really helpful when talking about things to do with a certain subject, like F1, as you search for the hashtag #f1 and you only get F1 related posts.

On a plane once with a bunch of stag weekenders. All flight they kept shouting 'hashtag' and following it with incredibly hilarious comments. It's a wonder we didn't all hyperventilate from laughing, it was so incredibly funny.
