    A tough one.

I would say for sheer genius comedy it has to be I'm Alan Partridge.

I'm currently about half way through season one of The Wire.

So only another four and a half seasons to go before I decide whether or not that I agree with many who say that it's the best TV show ever.

I'm really enjoying it so far though.

I think it is too difficult a question to answer. A lot depends on era and context as well as for many which genre of Television people prefer. For instance, viewers are well within their rights to choose a drama, period drama, sitcom, soap, comedy series, documentaries such as nature documentaries. Even for some people it could be a reality TV show it may well be that is what someone has grown up with.

I think for my era it would have to be Only Fools and Horses, The Simpsons and Family Guy.

    Star Trek TOS.

Best Brit show : Randall & Hopkirk Deceased (1969)

Major problem these days is that having seen these and other series so often its hard to view them objectively as I know them so well.

I'm loving 24 too having only just started viewing it within the last year or so and started season 7 on Bluray just this week , but I feel that I won't have such a high opinion of it in 10 years let alone when its as old as my faves

Season 1 of Damages is definitely up there. Also Cracker if we're talking UK TV, or I'm Alan Patridge if we're talking comedy.

Still need to watch The Wire though to see what all the hype is about :)

The West Wing by miles for me.

Only discovered it a year ago and have already started watching the complete seasons box set all the way through for the 3rd time.
