Maybe it's full of dance officionados or something.

The fact is that Ann Widdecombe IS SCD this year. Just look at the papers.

The nation has rightly or wrongly taken Ann to their collective heart. SCD this year has NOTHING to do with dancing - it's ALL about entertainment.

The judges have no say in the final - whoever wins the public vote wins the show. And that, IMHO, is how it should be.

I think its more a case of the nation being out of touch with DS ,
By the way can you call 10 million The Nation ,? Out of the those only a percentage vote , and out of that percentage only a percentage for Ann .So calling them The Nation is a bit ambitious ,

Well, we'll all just shut up about it and admit you're right then shall we? After all this is the same public who voted for a coalition government, have elected dozens of BNP councillors and make the Freak Factor one of the highest rated "programmes" in the country.

I bow down to the all-wise and all-knowing "pooblic". Slack-jawed cretins.

Well I danced and was a competitive ice skater in my 'yoof', but I applaud Ann for showing the GBP that anyone can take part and enjoy dance whatever their ability.

Dance is for everyone and if it encourages someone to take it up and enjoy, great!

I consider you live in a sad world but am willing to be converted if you are willing to put into words the entertainment factors in that foxtrot
For my simple mind use as many words as required and please detail the entertainment content
The dance content was given last place

That's how it's always been in the final - otherwise the judges would be the ones who decide the winner and not the public. There has never been a dance-off in the final, and nobody has ever seriously suggested that there should be.

I do think they should bring back the dance-off in the earlier rounds, to give the results show some sort of point to it. Even if there had been one, though, as Ann has never been in the bottom two, she would still be there!

OH PLEASE!!! Anne happens to write for the Daily Express in any event. The Mirror has hardly been fulsome in its praise of Ann. (Doris Karloff:D). What other papers have come out with adoring articles I don't know but if anyone knows chime in. And PLEASE drop the tired them and us line. There are many ordinary folks who are not dance aficionados (not that there's anything wrong with being one) who don't like Anne's dancing simply bacause she dances badly. Although I must agree with you that this year's SCD especially has nothing to do with dancing. IF Ann should make it to the final or make any of the really good dancers exit before their time I may not watch next year and leave it to "real people" such as yourself

    The nation minus two.....

Actually, I know of no-one who supports her, and as I don't watch ITT or take a newspaper, I don't see her from one SCD to the next.

She started as 'anyone can dance' but I am offended by the choreography which has become increasingly designed to laugh AT her, not with her. It is sad to watch.

Whatever it was she danced yesterday (for I am not a dance aficionado, and I have a poor memory), she danced it better than I would have done but that isn't saying a great deal.

The first dance or two she might have been "Everywoman" but now the whole set up is just to make fun of her, and I find it no more entertaining than bear-baiting.

OP, can you please point me in the direction of the entertainment that Ann is supposed to be showing us? I haven't seen any of it yet.

And minus three more - me, my husband and my sister. Also everyone who has mentioned the programme, none of them want her on it.

You'll have to point me in the direction of a video clip of Ann dancing then because all I've seen this year so far is running after Anton, being airlifted onto the dancefloor and sitting on her arse.

So you obviously believe everything you read ...

Ann writes columns (about herself, mainly) in the Radio Times and the Daily Express (a newspaper owned by a former porn baron - obviously Ann has no scruples about that). She's had endless media coverage about her in the Telegraph and Mail - all supportive.

This doesn't mean she 'is SCD this year'. It means she has a lot of friends in the primarily Tory media who are contributing to the hype the BBC is plugging relentlessly.

Ann obviously appeals to some viewers, but you have no data to prove how many - so it's extremely presumptious to say that the nation has taken her to their collective heart.

Indeed, many of us have not.

So are you claiming to speak for over 60 million people!!

Did you watch SCD last night with two outstanding dances from Kara and Artem? That's what I call entertainment of the highest order and its celebs attaining near perfection like last night, is what made SCD the best ever dance show on television.

The only reason AW stands out is because the other celebs try their hardest to attain perfection while she is allowed to do what she likes and belittle the experience. If we had 14 celebs like her SCD would sink without trace.

Anyway Judge Dread apart from AW who are your favourite dancers?

If this means that I'm not in the same camp as the readers of The Sun, the NOTW and the viewers of crap like X Factor and I'm A Celebrity, Help Out My Career, then I'm happy to admit I'm out of touch with the real world.

Since when was being featured in the papers the be all and end all? By that reckoning Katie IS X Factor this year. Does that mean she will win - not a cat in hell's chance and the same with Ann.

I am not sure about the label dance afficianados but I think more people on here find the likes of Kara Scott & matt more entertaining than the likes of Ann.

    The Widdy is an enigma!

Detest her politics, love her personality and wish she was still a serving MP. She'd sort out the current dull but devious government. In fact maybe she should go back into politics again and attack those who criticise her with her Rhumba!

OK her dancing isn't quite dancing and its important to remember modern day SCD is more about showing how anyone can enjoy dance. Even those with ample breasticles and deeply scary faces.

Go for it Ann! Hope she wins.
