Digital Spy has posted the new design for ITV 2, which will begin broadcasting form Monday morning. See HERE for the full list of pictures.

What do you think of the look? Simplistic and sexier, or just plain sad? I havn't made up my mind yet....

Yeah, I too don't think I can say whether I like it or not
    ...yet.
I shall wait till Monday and see what it looks like then I spose.

Plus, I posted a bit about it in the 'Do You Think It's About Time ITV2 Went Dogless?' thread, HERE :)

I agree, these channels spend millions to have a new look and yet they still show the same rubbish.

New cover, but still the same old pages.

It's nice to see that we aren't being plagued by the daylight effect on every logo (like ITV1). A lot of parts (the bumpers especially) remind me of some old channel four idents (the circle era). I am interested to find out the music scheme.

Apart from that they look pretty cool - we will see, when they go live!!

Even though I could never call any TV Presentation sexy I will say it looks quite good, and will probably be up there with BBC Three and Four for imagination value.

    Looks alright, I suppose. But if there's one thing that bugs me, it:s the la:zy use of co:lons in the sub:brand tit:les (re:play, un:cut, especially v:i:p). It wasn:t clev:er when ri:se did it, and it isn:t cle:ver now. Id:iots.

    agree with that.

it works as a one off with re:covered, because thats a bit more clever because its about (re) covers (covered) which are brought back by other artists as it were (recovered).

but to simply start putting colons in the middle of words left right and centre like that loses any cleverness there may have been, and will just look dated in about two weeks. possibly less.

Millions, a million, thousands, the point is makeovers like this are a waste of money, look how much the BBc spent on theirs.
Do people really care what it looks like in between programmes?

What people want is some decent programmes and the money could be used on that.

I certainly do not watch a channel to see lots of graphics moving around or some prat standing smiling tat everyone, like they do on ITV1

I think they're absolutely hideous actually..... but not too fussed, I rarely watch the channel anyway. It'll be good for Pop Idol 2 tho ;)

And I also agree the colons are very unoriginal.. and what's the purpose of them anyway? Not impressed

it's an improvement on the old logo which was dreadful.

at least it will mirror the itv1 styles, although these already look out of date.

Which one, the bevelled one used currently, or the plain blue/yellow one?:)
I quite like the bevelled ITV2 logo TBH, alongside the ITV1 one:cool:

The new one looks good - all we need now is for Channel 4 to get rid of their 'building blocks' logo!! :D

Although i've never seen ITV2 or had access to it, i really like the new idents! It makes more sense of the "four blocks" idea, i hate the way on ITV1 they split apart for a few secs then join up again, its pointless! The colons are a typical idea from middle age execs thinking they're young and trendy. Also the range of variations and black background kind of reminds me of the different Central logo animations :) Now drop the daylight, the cheesy irellevant celebs and homogenised credits from ITV1 and the transformation is complete.

The programming still suck tho! :D
