James Corden sitting in a car

Wherever I go on social media, there I see James Corden sitting in a car, apparently singing while driving, and alongside him, is a different allegedly 'famous' person every other day.

First of all, I don't wanna know what all this crap is about because I cannot stand James Corden. He's about as funny as a deadly plague.

My question is, WHY?

Why is any one who visits, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc, force-fed Corden's idea of a joke?????

We're NOT INTERESTED!!!!

It's on social media because Corden's talk show (which shows these skits) is a big thing in America.

I'm not a fan of his comedy either, but a lot of Americans enjoy it.

Whether you're a fan or not, I'd say Michelle Obama, Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Julia Roberts and George Clooney are all pretty comfortably famous without the 'allegedly'.

I like him so that makes 50% of this thread that supports him.

    Allegedly famous?

Michelle Obama, Adele, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Wonder, Elton John? Yeah, because their fame can be questioned.

But to answer your question. If you follow somebody on Twitter who retweets a Carpool Karaoke tweet, you will see it. If you are friends with somebody on Facebook who comments/shares a Carpool Karaoke post, you will see it. YouTube recommends videos based on things you've previously watched or they push what are popular amongst their users.

It's really not that difficult to work out.

While I don't find Corden particularly funny, I really don't have a problem with the videos. He's a successful host and he does sketches with some genuine stars.

Gusto Brunt is literally the only person on the thread who's bothered by these clips, so far.

Haha, I've never seen any of the videos. All I see is a massive picture advertising Corden's latest car jaunt.

And as regards the celebs, I'm afraid they have done their celebrity much harm associating with him. :p

It was mildly funny when he sung' do they know its christmas' in the car on Gavin and Stacy, but from the clips I have seen with him milking the idea, he just comes across as sycophantic and plain annoying.

I don't think Gavin and Stacey would have particularly inspired Carpool Karaoke

I think Carpool Karaoke is a great idea and celebrities clearly seem to love it

With many of the videos exceeding fifty million views, I'd say you're a bit wide of the mark with that statement.

But then I use all of the sites you mentioned in your OP and i'm certainly not "force fed" anything regarding Corden. I might see him in my "Recommended" tab on Youtube but that's the extent of it.

Stop 'socialising' with 'media' you don't like, just as you don't follow threads on Internet forums you don't wanna know, cannot stand and are NOT INTERESTED in!!!!

James Corden's show seems to have really taken off over there. He must be doing very well for himself now. Good luck to him.

It's the best part of the show.

Yes, he can be a bit OTT-to-irritating at times with his enthusiasm but it's coming from a good place, hence why carpool is so popular and why so many celebs are happy to be part of it. The Michelle Obama (and Missy Elliott) one was a hoot. :D

So many people in the UK seem to have wanted him to fail when he took that talk show job in the US. I'm glad he didn't.

Ah, he's just doing it to annoy you personally Gusto! ;):p Afraid he hasn't had the major flop in the US everyone was predicting on here, a year ago - far from it. Everyone was writing him off without giving him a chance. LOVE the carpools - particularly Gwen Stefani. A top CBS exec said recently he's one of the best signings they've ever had! I suppose the only consolation for all his detractors is that he'll be in America for at least another 4 years! :D

I don't particularly find him funny either but on the whole I don't mind him. That said, Carpool Karaoke is really infectious, even if you don't like the guest it's just something that's so ordinary but really works. The Jennifer Lopez and Adele ones are the best.

They're showing it on Sky One now too.

The only one I've seen is the one with Michelle Obama.........I just noticed it on YouTube and watched it

    Michelle is fab !.......:D

I think all the Car Karaoke things follow on from this one from the Aussie girl comedy group SketchSHE from a few years ago and all the parodies which it spawned.......

(this is good if you haven't seen it)

I believe the initial idea came from a similar segment with George Michael for Comic Relief.
He then did another with Gary Barlow.

As mentioned above, the Carpool Karaoke Special was shown on Sky 1.

If you have that feature then the special and now full episodes of the show are available On Demand.

I agree with the OP, I find Corden one of the least funny people around so I'm baffled by his current success, but as someone else said, if it keeps him away from the UK more then that's a positive side to it. :D

It is definitely pushed down people's throats though, I've lost counts carpool karoke (mainly the Adele one but recently Michelle Obama) has been on the homepage of Digital Spy, AOL News etc.

It's trending because of the hit count it gets on Youtube so it's obvious that quite a lot of people like him. or atleast that segment of the show.

I keep wondering how he'll actually top Michelle Obama. The only way would be to potentially get her husband after he's stood down i suppose.

I don't find him funny either, but Carpool Karaoke is really entertaining. I prefer it to sit-down interviews in the studio.

Given your hatred of the man and anger at him getting any publicity at all it's a good job no one round here is starting a thread to draw even more attention to those videos.

Wider than claiming Stevie Wonder, George Clooney and Michelle Obama are allegedly famous? :D
