Thats surprising, considering the earlier report in The Scotsman. Maybe the SFA were struggling to broadcast it on the internet as it said, so just gave the rights to the BBC for nothing to get it shown?
Why couldn't the English FA have done that for saturday? Brought the rights off Kentaro, then "donated" them to the BBC or itv as a goodwill gesture.
The english FA are hardly broke, so it could have worked

Not hard to find was mentioned on BBC gossip column, but had to google the full article
They're not broke, but they're not in great financial shape either, and certainly don't have a spare £5 million knocking around.
