If you have based your whole season around outscoring everyone and it is the reason you are being talked about for the title it is absolutely ridiculous to start hoping to scrape 1-0 wins. Your best comes when you just spring from the traps, like against us, like against Arsenal etc.
Nobody said anything about "hoping to scrape" 1-0 wins! But I'll repeat it, because I'm serious, I'll take 8 x 1-0 wins and the 24 points that goes with them right now without question or complaint.
Yes, of course it would be great to score another 40 goals in the next 8 games, but if just one of those games finish 4-4 or 5-5 then it's only 21 points, and it's doubtful that 86pts will be good enough for a title.
I really don't understand why wanting to be tighter at the back automatically means we stop scoring goals.
Ha, that was a bit harsh! A case of 'how dare you score again, don't you know when you're beaten?! Have this, scoundrels!' This could be a record breaking weekend for PL goals. 9 here, 6 at SB, 5 for City - that's 20 in just 3 games!!! I make it 30 across the 7 games played so far. Anyone know what the record is?
So come on I have been over looked Will we get 100 goals?
I think so.
18 goals in 8 games to get into treble figures? Right now I'd be surprised if we didn't! I think Chelsea are the only team to have done it with 103 goals scored in 2009/10 so there's something else to aim for.
I think all the negative nancies need to pipe down!
If we win every game 8-7 between now and the end of the season, I dare you to say, "Well it's nice winning the title and all, but we can't hope to defend it next season if we don't defend better". Numpties

Look at how many players get forward when we attack. At times we be exposed cos so many players are in forward positions. Do we want to see less numbers getting forward? I certainly don't as this side doesn't need changing. We are winning games, look good doing so and hammering the opposition.

It's possible!
With Suarez on 28 and 8 games to go, will he break the record for most goals in a season? Shearer and Ronaldo hold it with 31 goals! The better question is probably when will he break it!

Given the way Sunderland are playing, he could do it in the next game.
Just need the Hammers to beat Manure now for a perfect day
Sorry but I disagree. I want Utd to win convincingly. I want them to be the old Utd for a couple of games, just long enough to take points off City. Then they can resume to this season's vintage.
Otherwise I really cannot see where else City are going to drop points. I'm not worried about Chelsea if I'm honest because I seriously believe we will win all our remaining games but that won't be enough unless City drop points somewhere else and I can't see where other than the outside chance it will be OT.
The problem with scraping 1-0's all the time is that as soon as a time comes when you go one behind you are lost. This Liverpool team don't care if the other team scores first because they know they can outscore them and have the ability to comeback, you don't get that experience and confidence by winning 1-0 or trying to park the bus.
Yeah, I'm not advocating 'park the bus' until the end of the season. But I'd happily accept less goals if it meant more points.
If this title challenge is to go to the wire, the closer we get, the more important defending well will become, trust me.

Man Utd are still an (outside) threat for fourth. Remote yes, but still a possibility. It's in Liverpool's best interests for them to lose today. Makes no sense whatsoever to hope for them to win.

As for City, they'll kill Man Utd.
They're 12 points off 4th and 3 places below. They're no danger at all. 4th is sewn up for Arsenal which is itself a problem as I suspect after today they'll lick their wounds, settle for 4th and concentrate on the FA Cup which means they won't bother City when they visit.

31?? Wow! Then that is very doable by Luis, I can see him getting that.
As for the 'debate' regarding our style of playing, well frankly I am more than happy with how we are doing it all right now. We are an attacking team and we scare the beejabers out of any/all opposition. Teams will look at Cardiff getting 3 against us, still being hammered, and shudder! I love it!
I tend to agree that our issues at the back have been less about tactical defensive frailty and more about individual mistakes and lack of concentration. They could be cut out through better coaching or better defenders without effecting our over-all style of play. We can be tighter in defence without compromising the attack. We can be even better next season.

Don't think that'll be the case.
Arsenal's form at home is quite good and they always seem to perform when the radar's off (ie: nobody talks about their chances).

What's the problem?
How many goals did we score at West Brom? How many points did we take from the game?
It's not about looking for and moaning about problems; it's about winning a title, that's all.
BR has turned you all into a bunch of goal junkies
Horses for courses regarding our style. Look at how we played vs Arsenal and Everton at Anfield. Both had a lot more possession than we did and we weren't nearly as open as we were today. We invited them onto us, defended with resolve and then annihilated them on the counter attack. We can defend when we need to.
Obviously when we go away from home sometimes, BR decides we might as well just go all out attack from the start even if it means conceding a few. He's confident we'll score more than the opposition and we have, by and large. The Hull, Everton and WBA games are occasions where it didn't quite work out for various reasons (mostly silly individual errors that can be rooted out).

I'm very proud that our team owned by Americans have adapted those American values.
Winning 1-0 ...... Boring.....

That defence could cost you though

I love the way we play. Just wish the odd errors were wiped out.
Hull, WBA, Everton, 3 games we dropped points in due to errors at the back. Win those games and we would be 1 point ahead of Chelsea.
Win all our remaining games....89pts
Score another 14 goals in those remain games....96 goals
Fitting way to win our first ever Premier League Title, IF other teams were to drop points of course

we didnt play well vs Hull and didnt play well vs WBA.
I can argue that we didnt win those games due to the midfield and attack not being good enough and they never created enough chances to win the games.

I know we'll be smarter against City and Chelsea.
