Sounds like a teacher wanted to get their bit of bad press for The Chancellor and looks like they may have got it via the back door...

I wondered how long before someone started smearing the person who asked the question.

It's must have been terrible knowing one couldn't really blame a kid.

Come off it, he should know the answer. If you don't, pretty much everyone knows 8*8 is 64 and you can work it out from there.

So you would be quite happy to give the answer to question involving multiplying 2 five figure numbers off the top of your head?

Given children aren't taught the 10,000 - 19,999 times table you can understand why not.

Of course the guy in charge of the UK finances should be able to multiply two single digit numbers without the use of a calculator.

They're more than happy to let the The Office for Budget Responsibility, but the Tories are too scared to let them.

No the problem is no one can agree what a Labour commitment is, not even Labour

Well if that's how you want to look at it then there will be plenty of future opportunities for smears as this was the first in a joint venture between First News and Sky

Everyone knows 7x7 is 49. All he had to do was work it out from there. Clearly, an Oxford University millionaire can do that?
