Will I get sued for quitting McDonalds without notice?

I started the job 2 weeks ago, on my first day, they put me on the grill, they gave me little to no training, and got yelled at a number of times, I wanted to quit then and there, I kept at it for another week, they put me on cleaning duties in disgusting environments, but there's so much one can take being unhappy at work!

So I told him today that I don't want to work here anymore and I will return the uniform after I washed it!

He just said ok, and walked off!

Can I get sued or anything?

On the paper I signed before my first shift, it said, give at least 1 week notice!

No, is the short answer. But probably best not to ask for a reference.

    you didn't last long then.
i remember your thread when you asked if the email you got was telling you whether you had the job or not.

You only spent 2 weeks there and you go on about how there's only so much unhappiness you can take in a job. Lol.

I remember your other thread where your email said you'd got the job and you were querying it to see if you had got it. Maybe you should try a career in comedy? :D

You're still in a probationary period, you can quit whenever you want. Just don't expect a reference.

But you've not really given it a chance. Try and stick it out till the end of the month. Part of working in a fast food place is cleaning the toilets, it sucks but everyone has to do it at some point.

It can't be that bad, McDonald's are a huge company ...

Feel free to quit, just don't even think of asking for benefits.

Companies such as McDonalds have a high staff turnover so will be used to people quitting soon after as they start.

Why would they have any grounds to sue you? Even if you didn't return the uniform it wouldn't be worth their time. The one weeks notice clause really isn't enforcible.

Not to alarm you, but you're not really important enough to sue, even if they had grounds.

What are they going to do? Repossess your shoes?

I quit my Maccy D's job after 3 days to go and work in a Burger King..... I've never set foot in a Maccy D's since everytime I try a security guard throws me out :(:o

Ive heard they send Ronald McDonald & his mates to beat the shit out of people who quit after a week & don't work their notice. I'd start running if I were you

Given your inability to understand the email notifying you of employment, I'm surprised your didn't accidentally deep fry one of your limbs.
