Free easy to use photo editor?

Hi all,

I am looking for the above to remove someone (the registrar) from behind my daughter (who was doing a reading) in one of my wedding pictures. The wall behind is cream and plain, so I assume it shouldn't be too complicated. Any suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks K
