Rainbow before Geoffrey?

I was having a conversation with someone this morning about Rainbow, the 70s preschool kids lunchtime show!

I seem to recall a human presenter before Geoffrey?!?!?

Am I going mad or did he exist? I seem to remember that he looked a bit like Danny Baker (obviously it wasnt him though!)

It was a chap called Dave Cook

    See here for more details:

BTW, when you do, click on 'history' on the left hand menu for a picture not only of Dave, but also a quite frankly terrifying picture of the orignal Bungle.

Thanks for that - I don't remember Rainbow without Geoffrey or the scary Bungle.

You have answered years of doubt, thanks, clearly I wasn't going mad!:)

I have looked on line for this info many times without success, obviously not hard enough!:o

    Original Bungle is truly grotesque!

The Bungle we all came to know and "love" always reminded me of Oliver Hardy, I don't know why:confused:

The original Bungle was played by John Leeson, who later achieved fame as the voice of K9 on Dr Who.

Interestingly (or not!) George and Zippy were voiced by Roy Skelton, who used to do the Dalek voices in the early days of Dr Who.
