In preparation for The Avengers, I realised I had never seen this. Anyway, yeah, it's alright. I wasn't expecting terrorism (didn't know the story of Iron Man). Robert Downey Jr, Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow were all excellent. I enjoyed it. - 8/10
Just watched From Paris with Love . Really enjoyed it although a few silly moments (that shootout at the start seemed silly to me and didnt add anything to the plot), also I would have liked an explination from the woman for her actions , but overall very entertaining 8/10 , ps I liked the Pulp Fiction homage at the end (well it may not have been but I saw it like that)
Despite the crap title (why didn't they call it by it's French title..The Immortal ?) it's quite good. But I'm biased, it stars Jean Reno, and he is always worth watching..in my opinion.

The Company Men (2010)
Better than I expected. I remember it had a cool reception from most British critics..and it's true, I didn't have much sympathy for the main character. But I'm not sure that we were supposed to ?
It really just tells us what we knew already..corporate America stinks. But it's ok, and Tommy Lee Jones steals every scene he appears in..as usual.
Just watched The Blind Side, wasn't sure whether I was going to like it or not (was a LoveFilm rental recommendation) but I absolutely loved it. Brilliant performances from all involved.
I thought it was brilliant. i cried like a baby at the end though. But I liked the fact that Kate's character was so likeable and fun to be around, even when she found out she was dying.
Puss in Boots. A really good family movie. Not as good as the first two Shrek movies, but a definite improvement on Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After
Was quite enjoying it in a slow European Cinema kind of way but somewhat spoilt by the final third where the strands and characters come together, would have been much better without that imo.
But it has Cecile De France in it so cant complain that much.:)
Elektra Luxx [2010]. Director: Sebastian Gutierrez
6/10
Comedy about a retired porn star, a sequel to Women in Trouble, which I haven't seen. Much influenced by Pedro Almodóvar, who gets a thankyou in the credits.

The ending was very sad, especially since it's based on a true story
Enough laughs to make it worthwhile, and the songs are funny. Plotting thinner than a thin thing, and pacing uneven
Was he singing in it? Contagion the Musical
oh i didnt notice

Battle of the bounty hunters. The last half hour drags a bit but it's impossible not to whistle along with the theme tune.

Pretty much 127 hours, fictional style.........not bad, but not brill.......very slow burning, more psychological than thrilling
