Thin, light pancakes, with lemon, and a little sugar.

Cinnamon and banana is nice for sweet and I like mozarella, sun-blush tomato and bazil for savory.

I think lemon and caster suger takes some beating.

What i don't understand is pancake mix? It's only flour egg and milk in the first place. Does the mix have powdered egg in it? is that the boon?

Why wait for one day of the year to have pancakes? My mum used to make once a month at least.

Another religious thing we go through because it is tradition.

We have them all year round in our house. My lads love them.

I think I might make socca with chickpea flour, and stuff them with eggs and herbs.

Maple syrup.... Celebrating the fact that I no longer have to walk around with a bit of charcoal smeared on my forehead the day after.... stupid religious tradition

Gosh I forgot about the ash on forehead! Shows how many years I've stopped being religious!

I hope I've got some maple syrup left for our pancakes - if not it'll be the lemon & sugar ones - I don't rave about pancakes myself but I usually make them for my husband, not his religion but he's not religious either just an excuse for eating sweet stuff for him!

I think of it more of a treat, and if you constantly eat them or have them a lot then it is no longer a treat. There are certain things I only have once in a blue moon and these are treats.

We always had them when all us kids were at home - I was a lemon and sugar girl.

Not had them since I moved out though? May make some tomorrow actually :p

I make brilliant omeletes, never done pancakes, are they similar?

no very runny batter, with 1 egg at most.

pancake batter is like yorkshire pudding batter, or fish and chip shop batter

the french standard, butter-sugar is nice,
I like butter and lemon also.

I like savoury pancakes with ham and cheese, or with bottled asparagus spears wrapped in a pancake then covered in cheese sauce and baked. But good old lemon and sugar is still tje best.

Had to Google that - it looks yummy!

Good old lemon and sugar for me, though we also love them savoury, ham and cheese being another favourite.

Ohhh that's a great idea. Almost crepe suzette without the fire hazard. I might have to steal that one.

I call it Pancake Day rather than Shrove Tuesday. I'm having mine with sugar and Nutella but I have to wait til after 8pm as I'm not home before that. I'll eat a proper dinner in one of my university's restaurants beforehand though.
