Bummer:(! he would've made Labour unelectable for the next GE or two.

Not many were keen on him then, at least within the party.

He has put out some fluff about being under pressure.

Fair play to him if that's the real reason better to be honest about it.

Also can't believe I backed mary creagh at 420/1 and she's now 10/1, wish I'd of put more on lol.

Presumably unable to get the 30 nominations required from MPs. That may suggest that the party is leaning to the left.

Most likely one of the ones which "trash" read no doubt.

Probably because this is perhaps the biggest story to break of them all. It is headine news. What thread would you put it under where it would not have been instantly lost?

Given what other MPs get away with it must be political - perhaps he was caught sacrificing a child at Margaret Thatcher's mausoleum

I reckon he is gay and is trying to keep it a secret, someone had "dirt" that proved it.

    Shoot me down.

He wasn't a particularly impressive figure in the first place: glib, fake and insincere.

Maybe he has a skeleton or two in his "closet". His new girlfriend came out of nowhere, and I don't think he had one until the week of his leadership announcement.

UKIP will be glad another party will be getting some headlines for ineptitude today

Also, a clear lie about "being under pressure" because of the leadership contest. The contest hasn't really even started yet.

Maybe he just couldn't get the MP's backing? I have no idea how popular he is within the party.
