Vic Reeves - does a single person find him funny anymore ?

He totally ruined the Steve Coogan program on BBC2 last night and he was cringe worthy attempting to be "funny" on the soap awards last night too.

He realy seems to be one of those comedians stuck in a timewarp of 1994. He's just not funny anymore. Its painful to watch.

I enjoyed House Of Fools. Then again i've always been more of a fan of Bob than Vic.

Liked him in Hebburn but otherwise I think it has been all downhill since Big Night Out.

But he was Jim Moir, actor in Hebburn, not Vic Reeves his comedy persona.

I find him funny yes. But then I'm a big fan of Stewart Lee and some dont find him funny either. So who cares. If I laugh and someone else doesn't its their loss not mine!:D

Vic, by himself, not so much. I liked him in Hebburn - but as someone else has said, he was Jim Moir not Vic Reeves.
However. I love the double act of Vic And Bob.

I liked the Randall & Hopkirk remake, but I suspect I might be in a minority.

Reeves & Mortimer used to be good in the 90s but the bang bang series I didnt like.

I feel they had two good runs on TV the big night out series & the R&M series.

Most of the single people who enjoyed him in 1994 will've married by now so unlikely, tastes change and all :p

    What about Shooting Stars ?
    Comedy genius (IMO)

    Big Night Out
    The Smell of...
    Shooting Stars.
    Catterick.

All brilliant. I also like Hebburn but as someone pointed out, that wasnt 'Vic Reeves'.

House of Fools was an odd one. Funny in parts but not great.

As someone else mentioned, the Coogan thing is a few years old.

I loved (and still love) Big Night Out, The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer and I used to like Shooting Stars (I didn't watch the more recent SS though). I haven't seen much they've done since though, singly or together.

I prefer Bob to Vic now though whereas years ago I liked them equally.

    Same here.
House of Fools was very marmite with the type of show and comedy.

As a whole if you're not into alternative and surreal comedy you're probably not going to like Vic and Bob.

When he was on QI he was enthusiastic but not really funny. Also i've heard rumours that he demanded to know the answers in advance.

He's been on 8Oo10C a few times and came off more surreal than funny - I think expecting laughs for just being wierd.

He's always been an acquired taste - even at his peak in the 90's.

Personally I've always loved him, although the quality of his material in recent times doesn't seem to match the early Vic&Bob work, which was genius IMO.

    Definitely a marmite comedian.

I remember watching a documentary on him and Bob and it came across clearly how much of an influence Bob was.

A definite sum is great than its parts senario.

Love House of Fools - a real return to what they do best. Got pretty much everything him and bob have ever done - Big Night Out, Smell of e.t.c...

So yes, I do find him funny. Still.

    He never was funny, IMHO.
Just a rather tedious guy who's only "act" was OTT slapstick.

Have enjoyed a lot of the stuff Vic and Bob have done together, especially Shooting Stars and The Smell of...

Have seen Bob appearing alone on panel shows etc and he is usually very good, However, whenever I have seen Vic appear alone, he rarely raises a titter and is often embarrassingly unfunny.
