I think "The I.T. Crowd" is one of the funniest sitcoms ever, but no-one I know has seen it !
It's always buried away in the schedules.

Nightingales, a Channel 4 sitcom about night-time security guards in an office block was hilarious. It stared Robert Lindsay from My Family (although to people of a certain age he'll be more famous for Citizen Smith, David Threlfall from Shameless and James Ellis from old BBC police show Z Cars

I loved the I. T.Crowd, one of the very few comedies that made me larf & larf.

A few years before that, also on Ch. 4, 'Garth Merengi's Dark Places', totally hilarious, and also starring guys from the I.T. crowd, Moss & Douglas Renholm, really chuffed to finally find it on DVD.

Sledgehammer and Married...with Children. both were shown by ITV in the early hours when it began broadcasting 24 hours a day.

    Ahhh Sledgehammer :D

A "not so Good" Police Squad, but used to enjoy it; good stoopid US comedy.

Another Sitcom (according to Iplayer) i like a lot is Bellamys People, I thought it was a sketch show, but iplayer has it as a sitcom

Things like Allo Allo and Hi De Hi are still really funny, though never cool.
