Useful screen savers

Years ago there was a phase of screen savers that used to download data for SETI in the search for other worlds and one for cancer I seem to remember.

Anyone aware of current screensaver that my pc can take part in while its in resting mode?

    SETI is still operating but under the BOINC client where you can also choose from a number of other projects.

    Does anyone really still use screen savers these days with computers booting up near enough straight away from shutdown?

    To some extent yes, I leave my PC running all day and night so operate a screen saver when the monitor is on during the day. I used to run the BOINC client I mentioned above but stopped in order to reduce my electric bill.
