How to open the battery slot on a Samsung st61

I've just bought a new Samsung st61 so was just about to set it up and I can't even get the battery in because I don't know how to open the slot.
The instructions are absolutely useless, just vague pictures that have arrows going up and down at the same time (so what I;m supposed to push up and down at the same time efffectively cancelling each other out :rolleyes:)
Does anyone know how to open one of these because surely it shouldn't be that difficult?
