It depends on how James is marketed. Winning may be his downfall if he isn't allowed to show his own style.
I suspect James will do really well once he is away from the commercial pop scene.
Nicole's boys won because she did allow their individuality to shine through. She was clever and cared more about the talent behind her chosen three acts.
Meanwhile we have Jahmene let loose to make his own choices and I am really glad of that. He is a lovely guy with a distinct style.
Leon is actually a very good singer. For some reason he was dropped which is a shame.
Seriously, James won't go anywhere. This was a lacklustre XF with a lacklustre winner. Matt Cardle had a better voice, and he bombed after XF - James is destined to do even worse in my view.
XF needs a massive shake up next year if it wants to survive.
I'd put James down with Joe McElderry and Leon Jackson as one of those with a nice voice and zero star quality who won't go anywhere.

None of the others had 'the x factor'. In fact, I'd argue that only Leona, Alexandra and Shane really have it, and not in droves, either. Very few of them are good enough to carve out a niche for themselves. They are mainly nice people who require spoon-feeding - not artistes in the proper sense of the word, which is why they don't go anywhere. If they do have some genuine musical ability (like Matt) it isn't commercial or mainstream enough to take them anywhere.

Didnt really like the other winners much. I like Shayne Ward but didnt watch x factor that year.
I would rank him first even though I like some of the past winners James is different and I hope he will change the tradition iof male winners doing well because everything is there for James to be the most successful male winner.
I'd actually poll James first in terms of my personal preferences. I love his voice and would consider buying his music or seeing him live. That's more than I can say for any other X factor contestant.
I don't know whether he'll be able to break the curse of male winners, I hope so. He has potential so long as he makes music he believes in and gives his fans what they're expecting/what they want.
