I can't think of one. Not even James Stewart (The Greatest Show on Earth), Cary Grant (Suspicion), Tom Cruise (Collateral and Taps) and Jackie Chan (The Killer Meteors), all are known to avoid playing villains. *strokes chin* How about:

    Will Smith?
Keira Knightly? No, she was sort of a 'baddie' in Never Let Me Go.
    Dianne Wiest?

    Tom Hanks
Road to Perdition? debateable - is he really the goodie?
Charlie Wilson's War & The Ladykillers I guess you could say he was not the nicest guy but were portrayed in such a way that they we supposed to be likeable and not down and out baddies.

What about The Bonfire of the Vanities and that remake... I'm blanking on the title. The Lavender Hill Mob? Edit: The Ladykillers, which you noted.

    What Lies Beneath
    The Conversation (a charming villain)
    American Graffiti (a bully :D)
The Mosquito Coast (admittedly debatable - his character is a ********, but I don't think that makes him a villain)

He was essentially the villain of the piece in Dreamgirls. Not a villain in the true sense of the word, but certainly the horrible guy in the movie!

Not sure about the others, but Dan Aykroyd played a ruthless assassin in Grosse Pointe Blank.

Wasn't Steve Martin one of the two "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"? :-)

I'd personally class him as a villain in The Nutty Professor. But, then, he had various roles in that. :D

There's a movie called The Offence where I think he was a bit bad.

Wasn't Holloway the one who played Fagin in Oliver?

Mills's character is revealed as the secret ringleader of undercover German spies in a British 1941 war film with Leslie Banks, Alastair Sim, Michael Wildling and George Cole in the cast (to avoid spoiling this awesome twist, here's a link to the film's imdb page for the title).

I think that one was on tv last week

As for Stanley Holloway I've just realised he was one of the crooks in The Lavender Hill Mob which I suppose makes him a villain.

I don't think Esme Cannon who specialised in playing dotty old ladies ever played a villain
