No Anne Boleyn on the list
Her head placement was no good towards the end.
Should clearly be Fred Astaire
A-MA-ZING! :D:D:D
I'm also going with Salome. She certainly rather more than a 10 from her judge.
Although like Monaogg I'm wondering what happened to Fred Astaire (and Gene Kelly) although pleased to see Fiona making an appearance.
Rather guiltily I feel I should have voted for Nureyev. (Nijinsky being a bit before my time!)
Fred Astaire, Pamela Stephenson, Chris Hollins, Martha Graham, Chris Parker et al will be contesting the next round.
Ola also likes Salome's costume.
... I would have loved to have seen Craigs reaction to the polydactyl finger!
I beg to differ. Ginger Rogers did everything as well as Fred .... but backwards !
and in high heels
ROFL:D
With Pinocchio, I hope, or are wooden puppets ineligible (they'e allowed on strictly now and then)?
Does that mean 10 paddle for Fred,
minus 10 for Ginger?
At midnight on Christmas Day this Round 1 poll will close, and the lowest-polling 12 dancers will sadly be leaving the competition. Those coming back will join the 12 dancers listed below, in the Final Round, with voting starting again from scratch, continuing for 6 days. Feel free to ramp your candidate with a posting.
The Grand Final will take place at midnight on New Years Eve. As Big Ben chimes the poll will close to cheers, possibly to a standing ovation, and the winner of the DS Ball the Greatest Dancer of All Time will be announced. Amidst many kisses and more tears this trophy will be sent to the winner, through a medium if necessary.
Gypsy Rose Lee
Michael Jackson
Pamela Stephenson
Fred Astaire
Madonna
Matthew Cutler
Ginger Rogers
John Sergeant
Martha Graham
Gene Kelly
Anna Pavlova
Michael Flatley
Remember to save your candidate,
vote in the First Round ,
vote in the Final from Christmas Day.

Yes .. how come neither of these two were on the list?..... they are definately my all time favourites, i used to watch all their films on tv when i was growing up, i have never seen an American smooth to match theirs!....

If anyone knows of good representative clips, do share them with us.
Now where did I put that video of The Dance of Seven Veils Craig gave a 10 to.

The funniest thing is that Aida Gomez (Salome in the clip) is actually one of the judges in the Spanish version of Stricly. Weird!;)
As a side note, all those videos are excerps from movies by renowned film director Carlos Saura (who incidently is from the same are of Spain as myself). He loves flamenco and has done many movies featuring prominently.
I think Jill, Alesha, and Kara all have/had specific strengths and specific weaknesses.
