Is he a permanent character do we know or is this just a guest role?
I think it is a guest role because one of the articles mentions Elaine being back for three months, I imagine that it could become a full-time role? I'm not sure though. Three months of Elaine is going to be heavy going! I hope they have toned her down a bit.
Oh gosh, I literally only just realised that Marsden is Louise from BT.
They could try and get Aunt Sal in a scene too!
Sophie Stanton (Marsden) was also in a Gimme Gimme Gimme episode where Tom marries a lesbian from America (Stanton's character) so that she can stay in the country.

I was rewatching GGG the other day and had no idea that was her. She did a good american accent.
Scott Neal also played a solicitor in Emmerdale during Aaron's trial when he beat up Jackson.
If you look at Scott Neal's list of work, he has a lot of gaps between projects and many of them seem to be just a few appearances so this is quite a big comeback for him. Perhaps his most high profile since The Bill. Although I think he does more stage work though.
I always find it ironic that Jonathan Harvey writes for Corrie, yet many of the cast of Beautiful Thing have ended up in EE
Yeah I noticed that. Linda Henry and Tameka Empson were in the movie.
There are also links between EE and stage versions. Danny Boy Hatchard (Lee) appeared in one some time before arriving on the show. Charlie Brooks (Janine) and Thomas Law (Peter) were in a fairly recent adaptation.
Look at the number of former Bad Girls actresses who have appeared EE over the years too!

Had him down in my mental list of actors I would love to see on EE for a while.
Another Beautiful Thing actor too!
He plays Jase, who isn't all he seems.
Maria Friedman is back for a three month stint, so my guess is he is around for three months too. It's a storyline that runs until christmas

Yep! I didn't realise for ages until I watched it last year and made the connection!:D
Oh yes, Aunt Sal was in BT too! She was one of the neighbours on the estate, wasn't she?:D
There* not their I meant on my earlier post.^_^

He did a short run in Hollyoaks about 5 years ago, and I really liked him - always thought it was a shame they didn't extend his run.
Should be good, hopefully.
