It'd be interesting to see the effect of collective TV rights in Spain as the Spanish Govt is encouraging.

Can't see Real Madrid easily giving up 200m a year!

Possibly, I mean look where Sunderland are.

They haven't played in Europe since 1974, so their income is purely matchday and Broadcasting, that's fairly impressive

Once Spurs get the new stadium built their increased matchday capacity will give additional gates receipts that will take them into the top 10.

Interesting that Paris St. Germain don't feature. All that Quatari investment but in terms of revenue, they are still not one of the big boys.

The new sponsorship deal should change that.

Still behind Marseille & Lyon. The French capital doesn't seem that interested in the round ball game.

    Indeed.

La Liga Broadcasting revenue is around 800m

Barcelona and Real take 400m of that alone!

La Liga also doesn't have parachute payments meaning clubs going down in debt are in serious bother, Espanyol going down this season could threaten the club itself.

All of the clubs backed by the Government have called for a compromise in the shape of a collective deal, alas 2 clubs weren't invited to the meeting and have refused to consider the proposals...no surprise it's Real and Barca.

In 2011 Valencia finished 3rd in La Liga...yet made just £1m more in TV rights than Blackpool did in their relegation season!

    That's utterly crazy

Next year the top 10 will be pretty static. Spurs could overtake the three above to take 10th place and places 5-7 may move around due to Chelsea dropping out of the CL earely, but other than that not much else will be different. What may change is the make-up of places 11-20 as a number of PL sides will see a big jump in revenue from the new TV deal.

Out of interest, how many of the top 10 clubs made a profit in this period? I would hazard a guess at 2, maybe 3?

La Liga is eating itself, or rather its allowing itself to be eaten by two clubs. Crazy how they let it develop.

Liverpool seem precariously placed in 9th with Juve, Dortmund and Spurs all on the rise.

The rise in media money may even scoot LFC further UP the table, not down.

Nah, we've got 40m Euros + over them and will have a slight rise in revenues from the EL this season. We're not going to overtake anyone above us until Anfield is redeveloped and/or we get back into the CL but those below us aren't doing anything to increase their revenues hugely either. If any of them won the CL this season they might get close.

How much is the rise in income per prem club next season (due to sky)?

It's about a £14m increase per team meaning the bottom team will earn around £60m, more than City earnt from TV last season. But it's not until 2013/14 so won't effect the next table which will be for 2012/13.

I'll bet none of these clubs is as ridiculously and precariously dependent on match day receipts, as opposed to commercial revenue, as Arsenal.

Good point. Not qualifying for the CL next season could seriously hurt them in terms of their standing in this table. When Liverpool dropped out of the CL a couple of seasons ago we were able to compensate with major new commercial deals with Standard Chartered and Warrior. Arsenal extended their deal with Emirates for both stadium and shirt sponsership last year but I don't know how soon that will come into effect or to what extent. I very much doubt it will be enough to insulate the club from the loss of CL revenues (TV & matchday).

La Liga is a piss take - completely unfair on the rest of the Spanish teams and generally bloody unfair on the rest of Europe. Not exactly FFP.

The Independent says United will close the gap on Barca:
Last year, Real Madrid amassed record revenue, becoming the first sports club to bring in more than €500m (£420m), according to figures released today by Deloitte in its annual Money League. Barcelona widened the gap on United, ranked third, thanks to the Old Trafford club's barren campaign on the pitch. But with United set for a £30m boost from next season via the new TV deal and the start of a sponsorship deal with General Motors worth £45m-plus per season from 2014, the club will close the gap.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/manchester-united-and-city-duo-to-rival-real-and-barcelona-incomes-in-future-8464250.html

The Spaniards do better than they should because of the way they managed to corner half of the TV revenue between them.

In worst case scenario, the bottom clubs will receive an increase of around £14m. The teams finishing higher up the table will, of course, see a much bigger increase. It all depends on the international rights and if / how much they increase. The pot already has £3.018b in from the domestic deal but with the likes of the Middle East and Europe still out to tender, the overall pot will still grow, meaning that the 20 clubs will get more in their equal share.

We know already that the domestic money will be split equally, so all 20 clubs will receive £23,439,758 and a minimum of £9,820,325 in facility fees for live broadcast on TV. Then there's the merit payment and split of international TV money.

    Major pay day whatever happens!

Not really, Man City make a bigger annual loss than nearly every football club in the world.

No wonder Newcastle are spending so much in the transfer window. They really cannot afford to get relegated this year.
