Now you'll be able to fly yourself to those Scottish golf courses in the future. Just like Uncle Andy.

Chaingunning assholes from the Taliban and Al Qaeda will do just fine.

Considering the specialist training needed to fly the Apache, costing in the 7 figure range, golfing is not what it's going to be used for.

Neat move by Harry. No way can the MoD justify NOT sending him to Afghanistan, considering the time and expenditure that's been spent.

BTW - "Pedant Alert!!" he was already a qualified Helicopter Pilot before embarking on the 18 month training course. :D

Unsuitable for jet training hence the reason william and harry are both helicopter pilots.

Yeah, like they'd ever fail him with the amount of PR it's worth :p

Quite a fair proportion of Apache training is done by the Americans.

One of the hardest parts to try and master is using the monocular sighting system. Basically involves training your brain to take in information/views from each eye separately.

According to Ed Macy who wrote "Apache" it can take 9-12 months just to get used to this technique which causes extreme migraines. Even going on leave for a couple of weeks results in the return of the headaches.

You honestly reckon that they'd give someone a "free run" through this training just for PR purposes? Bear in mind that the guys on the ground rely on the Apache for support and is hardly the place for an untrained PR stunt.

Helicopters are superior to jets though, well that and Harry is in the Army and the Army don't fly jets.

I'm not really a Royal fan but atleast they are doing something that must take a hell of a lot of training and competence.

Glad he's doing something worthwhile instead of just jetsetting around the world.

Well they're alright I suppose, if it wasn't for that annoying fan on the top, they'd be even better though. :D

Harry is a waste of space, not really royal material

William is a legend though, he'd make a great king

Have any of them ever been the 'main pilot' though, or just the co-pilot/gunner?

:D He wasn't up to it.Maybe he thought the assualt courses would be like 'It's A Knockout'.
I imagine him bursting into tears when the drill instructor shouted at him.'Move your shagging arse your highness!'.
He'd have been better off as an officer in the RAF.Maybe Supply or MT.

:D It's certainly lowered my opinion of the calibre of RAF aircrew somewhat.
He's well up for the killing mind, which can only be a plus point.

I think the gist of it is, Princess Edward is Gay and like old school Monarchy he's been told to be straight or else ... he's an embarrassement to the Royals as he is to this country.

If he was such an asset why did his silly farce of a wedding not get such public support as Cahrlies or indeed Williams?

And while we are at it, what kind of wedding will we have with Harry ... get the natzi arm bands out folks!
