Is that true? The comment below seems to indicate that they made no such assertion.
No, Julie Gardner says she thinks the woman is his mother, but RTD seems to be keeping it vague on purpose. "It's for you to decide" was his comment I think.
I think RTD put it in purely for fan debate. There's no definitive answer.
So was she seeded in the story for Mr Moffat to use at a later date or was she just there it add some mystery and generate debate ? And the comments from RTD and co just there to 'gloss' over the issue.. Be interesting to see if she does pop up.
