I was very surprised to discover recently that Sugababes' "Too Lost In You" is in fact a cover version:eek: It was originally released back in 1997 by French chanteuse Patricia Kaas.
Any other surprising covers out there (in your opinion)?

Lori Lieberman performed the original recording of killing me softly
I remember being very surprised when I found out that the Bay City Rollers Bye Bye Baby was a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons cover....as was The Walker Brothers The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore
That was a sample rather than a cover. I too remember being surprised at this as I had never heard Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" when the Gym Class Heroes song first came out.
Similarly, I was listening to the radio the other day and was dismayed to hear some 80s act singing the chorus of Jordin Sparks' "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)". The best part of the song...and Jordin nicked it from someone else.

Who sung Come On?
A group called Kish Mauve
Fugees - Killing Me Softly (originally by Roberta Flack)
UB40 - Red, Red Wine (originally by Neil Diamond)

That's reminded me of Kylie Minogue's 2 Hearts, which I only recently found was a Kish Mauve cover.
