DUDE. Lunar Jetman. How I loved that bastard.

The original Alien game is pretty awesome, too- kind of unique strategy/RPG which isn't really like anything anyone's done since.

Although back to Lunar Jetman- pretty much anything released by Ultimate Play The Game is guaranteed awesome.

And Elite, of course. Always Elite.

    Plus Skool Daze...

...ah, the Spectrum. Beautiful little machine.

I wasn't keen on Tranz Am, PSSST, or Underwurlde. Atic Atic, Jetpac, and Alien 8 (SF Knight Lore clone) were okay. That's as far as I got in the Ultimate catalogue.

Addicted to Football Manager, of course!

I loved "Chaos" back then and still do today - just a shame the version on iOS appears to be incomplete.

It's the one thing that would make me jailbreak my iPhone, so I could get a speccy emulator going on it.

Ordered this last week as well ..

Used to play speccy games all the time in the 80's.
But to do so now would just be grim.

Why "grim" ? Some of the Speccy games are still hugely playable IMO ..

The graphics may be old but older games have more of a storyline to them. At least you're not endlessly running around some land blowing people up. :D

the fact you have to use you're imagination is what appeals to me about it.

This was my first ever computer in the 80s and I LOVED it!

Jet Set Willy, Manic Miner and all the Dizzy games were my favourite. I'd do anything to play them all again.

    Ah, the dead flesh keyboard.

They seriously proposed running businesses with those.

I remember the lensloc security thing you had to use with the Spectrum version of Elite. The fact I remember it 30 years later probably gives some indication of how much I hated the damn thing.

Christ, yeah. Mind you, it was better DRM than the pages full of coloured lines that came with Jet Set Willy and the like... in the absence of a colour photocopier, a set of felt pens and a boring Geography lesson used to do the trick nicely.

    Antz was a great game.
What was the one where you controlled a bee ? Possibly from Bug Byte Software.

Don't remember a bee, but Bug-A-Boo The Flea was kind of awesome.

    I still have mine, a 48K model.

I got it pretty early on, not long after it was released. Before that I had a ZX81!

I added the Interface 1, a microdrive, currah speech pack, and a light pen to it over the years.

What fun it was to take one's games, tape recorder, and blank tapes to a friend's house and play/copy games with the take recorders linked up!

Did anyone else used to get the magazines then sit for hours typing in the code for some crappy game? Ah, happy days.

I played a few recently on my PC with an emulator.

I could hardly believe how annoying and difficult the games now seem! I couldn't even get past the first level in Manic Miner.

Manic miner, deathchase, jetpac, jetman, fred, attic attack, bounty, ghostbusters, zoom, mugsy and blockbuster were some of the games I liked. I only really used it for the first few years after it being released so I don't know anything about the later games made for it.

My first computer as well, my brother let me have his.

3d Star Strike was better than the official star wars arcade conversion that came out years later.
