I was just looking at an atricle about how most movies are generally the same in terms of story e.g. hero's journey, falls, has to face challenges, might emerge victorious etc, and I was wondering, as most movies do actually fit into that sort of description, I was wondering if anyone thought it was actually possible to have a movie thats really different? Basically, whats never been done in a movie before? What do you never see, and what would yuo like to see? I'm just wondering if any of you can come up with anything that is actually different to what you usually get on screen. Just a little experiment, to gauge how accurate this article might be

How about Eraserhead? That pretty much defies description.

    The Blair Witch Project.

Love it or hate it, you can't argue that it's not different. Take some unknown actors, give them a camcorder, an outline of a script, let them film it themselves and improvise. Net result, huge box office hit.

You need to look at foreign language films in order to see something innovative. There is a film called Blind Chance which is directed by Krzystof Kieslowsk. The film is centered upon a man who attempts to catch a rain. There are three different scenarios as to whether he catches the train or not.
