Do you know how 'Deadly Mission Madagascar' at 16:30 has been doing so far (since last Monday)? As well as Sparticle Mystery, All Over the Place and Sadie J yesterday? Thanks.
What will be interesting is whether C4's commitment to racing continues past 4pm and Deal or No Deal. At the very least if they're not willing to stick with it until the final race they should put the last couple of hours on More4.
Perhaps you're right, I thought I read it was new. I'm more of a flat racing man although I have been getting more into the jumps of late.
And agree strongly with your concluding point. Never made sense to me that the BBC would sometimes not show races they had the rights to at various meets, even when they had the red button streams they could have put them on. The programme would end before the card has been completed and that would be that.
People should have learnt by now not to over talk ITV football matches, declaring the match a disaster after 10 mins. It's the same conversation every time. Regardless of the goals, the ratings will be disappointing based on people's apparent expectations anyway.
Finally ITV have some luck with an acquisition. After a rocky couple of weeks following the premiere, the fourth episode of The Americans showed a slight uptick to a 0.8 rating. FX quickly followed this up with a second season renewal.

The Chase without +1 beats Pointless and all of BBC One Primetime (bar Eastenders) Eastenders looks very low last night and I'm not sure how much longer Waterloo Rd can continue now- I used to love the show, but I have to say its terrible now.

That's because there was yet another clash with emmerdale...
Its not as if viewers couldnt switch over at 7.42 when Emmerdale ended. If the BBC were that concerned they could have run a lit late anyway. They seem to be masters at it on Christmas Day and Saturday nights.

And how many times a year does the BBC lunchtime news for pensioners and the unemployed outrate all of ITV's evening output (excluding the soaps)?
Face the Clock: 268k (3.6%) / 291.5k (3.9%)
Countdown: 545k (6.6%) / 618k (7.5%)
Common Denominator: 388k (4.3%) / 425k (4.7%)
DOND: 973k (8.8%) / 1.10m (9.9%)
DOND seems higher with +1. A sudden rise for Countdown, surprised no one has noticed this. Common Denominator rather steady, Tipping Point doing brilliantly and Face the Clock (repeats going on what is said on here) are doing OK.
Would like the same CBBC ratings (Sparticle Mystery, All Over the Place USA and Deadly Mission Madagascar) for yesterday, but this time including Dani's Castle, Blue Peter and Fierce Earth (teatime, if that's the term you want to use for that block).
Regarding last night's ratings, The Chase and Pointless seem to be hovering around 3m, not much of a sudden rise but they need to give both shows a break. Tipping Point finishes it's current run on Tuesday I believe so the ratings for The Chase will make for interesting reading afterwards, as it isn't being given a 2m lead-in. Good for the football, didn't expect to see Emmerdale so close to EastEnders.
Aham his point stil stands though. It clashed as you said at the start with ED, which even though wasn't a whole clash would have stil effected the ratings as no ones really going to watch something when they have missed the first few mins. Plus if you look at the bbc three ratings there pretty high so it shows u the clash did effect it in some way. Plus over 6mil with a clash is still pretty good for EE

Looks like we failed to take into account Zenit's defensive prowess, or lack thereof.
Game back on and ITV's 9pm ratings rescued.
(I'm a Charlie Brooker disciple, but he'll have to wait for the iplayer due to football and the C5 drama).
Thanks for these!
Love the ITV commentary. "He absolutely nailed it but hit the side netting." Classic!

Man United and Liverpool generally get good figures for their football matches
it didn't beat The One Show
Oh yeah- well my point still nearly stands.
That's because there was yet another clash with emmerdale...
BBC3 figures were 714k, for what that's worth
ahem - part clashed, not clashed!
Em was still on when EE started.
It's a clash.
Izzards held up superbly! Brilliant retention for the second part.

Steady ratings there.
For what's a comedy series, Sadie J isn't doing very well, especially considering it usually focuses on celebrity/current trends etc.
Seems only The Dumping Ground can actually be above that slot average then.
