I am very happy that this has been resolved, whilst I may not be the biggest fan of Sky 1 or have particually missed it over the past 18 months I am happy that we have more choice. I am looking forward to the addition of Sky Arts which will fill a gap that has been missing on cable since the loss of the Performance Channel.

To me it makes my package with Setanta Sports, VOD & Music OD unbeatable and extrememly good value. I have toyed with the idea of taking Sky HD, but my package makes much more financial sense for what I want out of my TV viewing.

I do hope that this doesn't mean the end if Setanta Sports News, I have has access to both Sports News channels through cable and my built in freeview box and now prefer Setanta Sports News as a more comprehensive sports news channel.

Won't be a problem, I have a Sky box set up as well for the FTA/V channels.

Bit unfair that, considering you wanted this discount due to the removal of Sky basics. But now you want the channels plus still keeping your discount!;)

:D I wouldn't say I wanted the discount because they dumped my favourite channel, that was just the catalyst for me to ring for one.

I am so glad I have the V+ box.I cant watch Sky one live,I dont know how anybody can.All those adverts, drive me up the wall.
By the way all you people moaning about not getting all the channels because you are on a smaller package, put your hand in your pocket, you will not get better value for money anywhere.

You wouldn't think so from past posts:D I really doubt you will get a discount now. I think they may call your bluff this time. Good luck mind;)

I had a "for life" deal and had it in writing. did not stop it being ruled invalid and replaced by a 12 month deal by cisas as part of an arbitration!

and it was agreed by a member of the CEO team who was appointed to deal with the original situation by the CEO. I if they can't do life deals I suspect all other deals are flimsy!

What will the channel number be for sky1?

What was it before it disappeared?

    121 Sky 1

    122 Sky 2

    123 Sky 3

Don't know what these numbers were on NTL but on Telewest we only had Sky 1 which was on channel 120.

Those for life dicounts mean nothing. Do you honestly believe Virgin could afford to subsidise you till your death? You haven't exactly signed a legally binding contract. They will look at your account, see what misgivings caused you to want a discount, see it was the removal of the Sky basics that triggered it and i bet they won't offer you another one. You should have to pay full price like the rest of us.
