Time Shifting

With the proliferation of "+1" channels on ITV, C4, C5, E4 etc. where the programme starts one hour later than the normal schedued time, wouldn't it be a good idea if those channels also offered a "-1" option, so that people could watch programmes one hour earlier?

It would mean that you might not have to sit through an hour of dross while waiting for your favourite programme to start, and there would be an added benefit for C4 Racing viewers, as they would be able to place bets knowing the winners.

I think this is a cracking idea, I'm surprised the networks haven't started doing it.

    And then you could have a +1 channel for the -1 channel so you'd have BBC 1 - 1 + 1

    Also would BBC 1 + 1 = BBC 2???

considering the number of repeats shown nowadays, a -1 channel might actually work :)
