Penguins don't fall over watching planes fly overhead.

The bit about hair not growing after death, I read about 1st World War soldiers surrounded by dead bodies in the trenches saying that the hair did grow.

ALAN PARTRIDGE ISN'T A REAL PERSON!!!

    He won't have it :D

And neither is Keith Lemon, though the way he is talked about you'd think otherwise :o

That one always makes me laugh - for example a great white - a two to three ton apex predator is not going to be very worried by some puny primate feebly hitting it on the nose - it deals with elephant seals for God's sake! :D

Although it isn't correct it isn't ridiculous in itself because you do get unexpected behaviour in some species. A good example of this is if you turn a great white shark upside down it will become immobile, okay easier said than done but killer whales that hunt great whites actually do this before killing them.

I still think swallowing chewing gum will bung up your guts.

Also I am reliably informed that part of an NHS nurse's duty is to routinely ,
ahem, " give hand relief " to incapacitated male patients. However I
still have to do more research on that one.

ingrid bergman didnt say ,"play it again sam".

cats are not causing global warming (so they can spend more time rolling around on hot concrete driveways)

it now seems smoking does cause lung cancer. despite what the tobacco industry claimed for decades .....

there wasnt the necessary human technlogy to fake the moon landings in 69.

aliens faked the landings then gave the tapes to the cia. so we wouldnt discover their lunar bases.

That's very dangerous. Why not simply reach out and take the gun off them?

Of all those myths the one that pisses me of the most is the Goldfish - they are actually very smart and it is just an excuse for cruelty.

Is it. So, what's the reason for keeping all the other breeds and makes of fish in captivity.

An ex of mine thought the same. I told her it was a Steve Coogan persona, like Tony Ferrino and Paul/Pauline Calf.

    I think it's

"You've got to ask yourself a question. 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?"

Most of these misquotes are essentially saying the same thing as the original quote, but pedant city kicks in because the quote isn't quoted exactly word for word.

It's like 'Do you feel well' being misquoted as 'Are you well', which are basically saying the same thing.

    mount everest isnt tallest mountain
    Mauna Kea is

That's base to peak height. Everest is considered the highest mountain, as you can see the base without going underwater. Basically, what is hidden underwater doesn't count.

The Sun newspaper never ran a "Charlotte Church Countdown to 16 Clock".

    Indeed they didn't.

The Sport ran such a countdown, but it was for Lindsay Dawn McKenzie and published naughty pics of her on the day of her 16th birthday, meaning she must have been 15 when they were actually taken. :o

No they never. The CIA got the technology to fake the moon landings from crashed UFOs, they never got enough tech to actually go to the moon but did get enough to fake it.

Hair doesn't keep growing after death. The skin shrinks back due to dehydration/decomposition which gives the impression that hair and nails are still growing.

Only if you take the base to peak height.. with most of it under the ocean.

how else can u mesure height of something ...base to peak usually is best way

often wondered if everest is actually smaller as its jammed between mountains , so maybe the base doesnt begin at sea level

They are all adopted. Harry Palms mother Alotta Bush remarried Dick Fitswell and had 2 other sons Mike Hunt and Hugh Jass even though Harry's grandmother E. Norma Stits objected.
