http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0071y6rGreat British Menu is back and the nation's greatest chefs are competing to cook at a special banquet at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate 25 years of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day and celebrate the unsung heroes of charity work. Not only do they have to deliver a performance on a plate to win, they will also have to put a smile on everyone's face. The chefs will also be set fundraising challenges to raise money for Comic Relief. Also, each week a special guest will also join the judging triumviate.
The curtain raises on London and the South East - newcomers Matt Gillan and Adam Simmonds come face-to-face with returning contender Tom Aikens. Today, it is the starter course and someone will make a schoolboy error. Will Tom make a mistake delivering his complicated chicken dish? Or will it be Adam or Matt, who are creating wildly different pigeon dishes
Great British Menu veteran Richard Corrigan will be judging all week.

Also I think it is time the judges were changed. They have become very boring & very snobby.
Cook a 4 course meal for a starving African?
I'll guess that it'll either be fun and exciting courses or just go all out to impress as I can't think of another theme to match up.
I'll tune in to see what the theme of the banquet is.
I like Pru and Oliver, but Fort is a tiresome bore. They've changed the judging by adding a 'celebrity'. I doubt that will be an improvement.
Someone will have to keep count
I only found out last year that he has an identical twin brother.
He runs a gastropub in the US. Saw him on a US food show.
i'd never noticed before but typing away and i wondered why tim henman was on it!!!
seems to be an extended ad for their restaurants rather than showing any cooking

Him and Atul seemed to get a by
Lol, maybe so!
The judges are judging heats from outside their own regions this year, so Angela Hartnett is doing Scotland next week.
That's interesting, bit of a twist. Thanks for the info
