Liam is forced to face his worst nightmare following Kane's return, but will he make the right decision?

Meanwhile, Michael puts his plan into action by inviting Janine to join him, Scarlett and Alice at a toddler group. Michael knows Janine will hate it, but she feigns excitement and is forced to hide her irritation as she watches the other parents all singing. Once the session is over, Janine snaps at Alice after hearing that Scarlett has a busy day of various kids' clubs ahead. Michael is delighted that his plan seems to be working, but Janine is intent on not letting him win.

Elsewhere, Max reveals the real reason for his secretive behaviour as he shows Kirsty a new flat that he's secured for them. Kirsty is delighted, but she is the only one as when Ava arrives to give her new neighbours a housewarming plant, she sees the two of them and walks straight back out again.

Also today, Abi arranges a surprise gathering for Jay at The Vic to celebrate him finishing his community service. Not wanting to annoy Joey any further, Lauren vows not to drink when she attends. Later at the pub, Lucy offers to get Lauren a drink. Although Lauren says that she just wants an orange juice, Lucy orders her something stronger. As Lauren gets increasingly drunk, it's the final straw for Joey and he dumps her. A horrified Lauren realises that Lucy has spiked her drink, but Joey doesn't believe her claims.

Finally, Ian thinks that Janine might be able to help with his financial situation, but he is forced to present his ideas to Billy because she is too busy.

::EastEnders thought for the day::

Could EE be doing more to raise awareness? Okay they're doing this whole gang thingy which is great because that kind of thing does happen and I'm very impressed that they're tackling a pain killer addiction in anyway but it does seem a little dull. Having been an addict to various different substances, I often think about soaps that I'd like to see addictions tackled with a lot more passion and with a lot more research done. Take Phil with his alcoholism, he goes on a bender, all it takes is a little motivational speech from Shirley, Sharon or whoever happens to be in the room at the time and he knocks it on the head. And it was the same with his crack addiction, I can't help but feel it's very lazy writing. I might be reading way too much into this because of my personal background but that just means it's a subject fairly close to my heart and that people need help with. I'm not saying people aren't being threatened by gangs and need help there, all I am saying is when you do do an addictions storyline, it needs to be done right. Nasty Nick Cotton's herroin addiction in the 90s for example. I've never been on herroin so I can't comprehend what it's like or what people go through but I've heard many people say that it was very realistic and John Altman himself made an effort to go around to talk to ex herroin users to find out what it's like and do some research on it. That kind of thing just doesn't seem to be around anymore, and if it is, they're not paying too much attention to it. I woudl also like to see other things tackled over a period of time...Smoking, pornography, shopping, gamling (maybe looking into Masood's problem a bit more). But then again out of the 7 million people who watch EastEnders, I'm just one of them and I'm probably making too much of a meal of it!

::Where could they be now?::

What I like to do on my episode threads is take a seemingly unimportant character from EE's history and look at a way they could be brought back into the show today. The last three have been men so today I'm gonna look at a woman. I've decided to go with Clare Bates, probably slightly more significant than the three I chose on my previous threads and departed later on than them and has more ties so you could actually say I'm cheating here. But I think she would be the perfect candidate for an addiction storyline I spoke about above. What if she was addicted to shopping). So how about this, she turns up looking for somewhere to stay, she's not as big of a wild card as she was a few years ago, we have Janine for that. But she's still a bit of a cow. She's become a reasonably sucsessful business woman and in the future could partner Ian and help him get back on the ladder, she intergrates herself back into the settings of Walford but her addiction to buying new things is getting on top of her, she loses control of the everything and Ian has to keep bailing her out and covering for her. Could be the start of a very strange, comedy friendship. A Billy-Janine style one.

    isnt Claire Bates that bird in Hollyoaks . Gemma something .

    Anyway in regards to addiction , I think soaps are a bit limited by the time slot to be honest. The true horrors of withdrawal cannot be fully shown .
    Personally speaking Philths alcohol addiction has been close to my heart and they do a reasonable job of showing him occasionally pondering a drink . The temptation is always there. I think he will fall off the wagon sometime soon .
    Rainie did a decent job as well.

    Coming up soon it will be interesting to see -
    Sharons collapse and how it is handled

    In fact I dont even know what point Im trying to make . Can we talk about Kirstys hat instead :D

    Indeed, that would be the problem with something like a pornography addiction...It'd be hard to do due to the time slot. I originally wrote that plot up for Claire haha...(Woman can be porn addicts too :D) but thought of the watershed etc.

    I agree, he wouldn't stand a chance against Bianca one on one, they could have a wrestling match:D

    What would Bianca' s. Wrestling name be?

    She could Ginger, the screen sister of Crimson and Amazing Red. Her voice could rival the screech of Vickie Guerrero and Sensational Sherri.
