Unfortunately this weekend, selling an old laptop on eBay wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, eBay gave my name, email, postal address, and phone number to scammers who then used that information to create spoof emails pretending payment had gone through.

Do you think its okay for eBay to be giving this information out so easily?

Does it make you think differently before selling on eBay?

Would that not be a breach of the DPA?

Ebay and Paypal are a laugh unto themselves.

I re[ported an item not received, they asked for my phone number which wouldn't be passed to the seller. except it was and cue harassing phone calls telling me to withdraw my complaint.

Dont use it now, they're a disgrace. They dont give a shit about the people that use it.

Exactly but until I researched it I didn't understand how easy it was for people to access it.
